Any Old Timers Remember The Great "Post Count Flush Job"

I don't care about the post count and I'm only moderately interested in S&W revolvers. I love this forum for the dog threads. :D

And I for one, am grateful to you Lee.

Certainly not a troll, but as for troublemaker, well, I've tried to amend my ways and do no worse than my lawyer from Louisiana! .... :)

Drew

Whoa there sparky.....................I've been .good..most if the time...except for that one time.....and well, maybe that other time....but I'm tryin....really I am. :D And as far as that monicker "trouble maker" well I prefer "provocateur"-or "thinker of strange thoughts".
And as far as a troll, well I've been banned from the M&P15-22 subforum and am forbidden from opining on fake silencers

How about CCW Badges?

Drew, I believe you are acting as a "provocateur" and trying to get ole Caje back into the dog house. He is too smart for that, well..... maybe if it is late at night and there adult beverages involved you might slicker him into it.

Geez! Much ado about nothing. I never would presume to think anything I say here is much worth archiving, nor have I seen much posted by others that would seem a momentous loss if something happened to it.

In general, the subject causes me to feel a little amazed at the lack of gratitude to Lee Jarrett for doing all that he has done. Until just now, I did not understand the extent of that, financially, but now that I do, it makes me feel a little sheepish considering the modest amount I contribute to the cause. :o

Whatever.

"Whatever": the white flag of reasonable discussion.

Most of the members here couldn't care less about your post count, or what happened to it 3 years ago.

You managed to responded to my post, yet you don't seem able to recall the multiple declarations that, "I could care less about post count." That position did not change between those posts and your last one.

I guarantee you this topic will come up again, and similarly there will be members who pass on their "wisdom" of perfect hindsight and let us all know how it should have been done. You know the type.

I'll just put that 2x4 right over here to keep it handy.

Perhaps if the facts were better communicated to members, this bit of forum history would be more more universal understood, and there would be less need for you to wield your 2x4.

Every bully pulpit comes equiped with some form of 2x4. True wisdom is found in knowing when not to use it or otherwise unfairly leverage an appointed position of power (and we all know the latter type). Foresight always trumps hindsight.

With nothing of merit left to discuss, this end my participation here.

Does anyone else wonder if the Internet Archive Wayback Machine saved that famous March thread about two kinds of meat? :)

the count doesn't really matter, its what counts that matters, ANYBODY can babble and carry on and on and on.........stop and really listen ( or read) and see how some just like to hear themselves talk (or in this case, COUNT!)

+1. I agree and by making useless echo I add to my post count. :D

What does amaze is that this thread is still going. Whatever. :D

Many,

Next time you're in Dallas give me a "head's up". Maybe we can get together for a bite.

I've still got that RM #713 that we swapped a couple of times. Also that 4th Model .44 Military 4" that you found in Tulsa back in 2005. That old saying about "can't pay too much, but only too soon" is just about to be proven again for me when I look at the prices on them now. But I wouldn't take for it...it completes the set of bbl. lengths in that model.

I remember the infamous Post Flush of '09. I also remember being gripped by a post-Post Flush frenzy of firearms and ammo purchases, similar to the consumer panic that ensued around Y2K and 9-11. With internet meltdown staring at me, it looked like a perfect time to stock up on the essentials.

Thinking back to before the actual data transfer, I'm a bit surprised that the highest post count members were never referred to as S&W Forum Groupees.

:)

I've been trying to recall some of the frequent posters screen names here, back before the 'big flush job', but most of them escapes me.

Anyone remember some of the frequent posters screen names from back then that no longer post here? Thanks,

Art

I miss several former contributors here.

Smithnut
Dhart
Wyatt Earp
Jim Shugart

Just the ones I can think of at the moment but there are probably a few others.
