Just picked up a P228 today, mid-90s gun. Came with 5 factory 13-round mags. Doctor put a box of ammo through it and then stuck it away. Paid $600. Mint condition.
Sigs, My 220 ST is the most reliable/accurate .45 I have ever owned.
I can keep a pop can jumping at 25 yrds till the mag is empty.
Yeah I like Sig Sauer!
I have a P226 and now a P228. I used to have a P220 and it was a great gun but I felt it was a little thick for a single stack 45.
I like the P228 better than the P229. It balances a little better for me.
I thought about getting a P229 in .357 SIG because some Secret Service guys I used to shoot with carry them, but it's low on my priority list. I have also been intrigued by the idea of a P210 at some point, but it's hard to justify several thousand dollars on one when there are so many revolvers I still need to buy
Personally I prefer Glocks, but if I couldn't have my Glock 17/19 the P226/P228 would be my second choice and I really like the SIGs.
btw Ladder, wouldn't that be the fatherland? Motherland would be a Tokarev or something
I no longer have my nice German two tone P220 .45. I paid all of 650 dollars for it new in box circa 1999. I still miss that gun. Also no longer have my P232 or my P6. Miss them much less.
Being relatively trendy and what not, I do still have my P229R in .357 Sig with night sights. That one I'll keep. I also have a Sig 556 rifle that makes me happy in some ways and makes me shrug in others.
'80s und '90s aus Das Vaterland...
P220/.45 x 2
P225/9P
P226/9P x 2
P228/9P
P230/9K
P245/.45
All but the .45s served as duty weapons, the pair of 226s for 13 years, the 228 for 11 years, the 230 for 7 years and the 225 for 5 years ...
Very nice P228. My first Sig was a well used P228. I traded it off for a Smith & Wesson. Two years ago I found another in excellent shape and grabbed it up quick. In my view the P228 is a dang fine Duty/Carry 9mm double stack. Won't ever part with this one.
Sigs and Smith & Wesson's are my love. Have a P6 and a P220. Wouldn't mind a P226 or P229. West Germany made and no rails for this child. Older the better just like Smiths.
My 1st SIG was a P225/P-6 9mm, Ploize issue. This had ben sent back to the factory for a rework and then imported to the States f/re-sale. Great shooting gun, a tack driver. One draw back, parts for her were almost impossible to come up with. But I fell in love with SIG because of this auto. I was @ the local waterhole f/guns, and just so happened they had a special that week on SIG SP2022 9mm. This was SIG's attempt @ the polymer frame market, seems I read somewhere that the French was equipping their military w/this auto. Anyhow looked it over, asked why such a good deal on a $675.00 pistol and the salesman said making room for SIG's new models! Now the gears started to turn, this also was the same place I had purchased the other SIG. We here in the South just love to Horse Trade. So the deliberation started and before you could spit, I was the new owner of the SP2022. Took it straight to the indoor range @ the dealers, shot off a box and walked back to my car w/a big ole grin on my face. Now I keep hearing guys say, it ain't a real SIG because of the poly frame and the way you remove the slide is not a flip lever but, comes apart much like a 1911, of which I like. I have added/changed a few items since buying: 1. NcStar Tactical Flashlight/Laser combo 2.Houge rubber 3. Sprinco re-coil reducer 4. X2 15 round mags. RH
