Anybody watch Jonny Quest when they were a kid?

Take pity on me.

Growing up there was only one television station (BBC). It only broadcast a few hours in the morning and a few in the evening. The only kids show I remember was chewing gum for the eyes. Not having any other shows to gauge it by I thought this was what television magic was.

Remember, this was all I had. Please watch it until the end. It starts getting bizarre around the 2 minute mark.

ATV - "Bill & Ben The Flower Pot Men" - YouTube

If it's pity you want you have it. THAT is bizarre. By any standard, any time, bizarre. Actually answers a lot of questions I have about British T.V. and how it got where it is. "The Prisoner" was pretty bizarre too!

I watched every episode when new in the early 60's. Aired on Friday night in Los Angeles. Looked forward all week. I really miss simpler times.

I remember and still like the robot spider in the opening credits.

Yea that was my favorite episode!

Always looked forward to spending Saturday mornings sitting in front of the TV watching cartoons instead of playing outside. :D

Born in '49. Never heard of it. The only cartoons I remember were popeye. Howdy Doody and I Love Lucy were the favorites.

I have an annual subscription to Boomerang streaming service. They have a lot of the Hannah Barbera cartoons. I'll have to check out this one also. Does anybody else remember when Hanna Barbera land was at Kings Island?

Johnny Quest was my introduction to jazz.

From a 1999 interview of composer Hoyt Curtin:

"The band used for the sessions was a jazz ensemble consisting of four trumpets, six trombones, five woodwind doublers, and a five-man rhythm section including percussion. Two of the drummers were renowned musicians Alvin Stoller and Frankie Capp. According to Curtain, the opening theme took about an hour to produce; however, the shorter "cues" were usually done in one take after a quick rehearsal."

I remember the reruns in the early 70's on Sat. morning cartoons.

That was me too, my favorite cartoon. I bought the complete series of Jonny Quest on DVD for my boys when they were little, as well as Thundarr the Barbarian. And watched them.

Jonny Quest was a much better show to my 42 yr old self.
