For those not familiar, it is a membership program paid monthly (or yearly if desired) and you can see a new movie every day of the month, for the one low price.
They were pushing a special for $9.95/mo. then soon after offered a special of something like $85 if you pay for the full year in advance. My sister has this deal, and in the past 2-3 months has seen 22 movies so far. I don't know how this company can possibly make any money. They must pay movie theater regular movie price for each ticket sold. Certainly a mystery.

Never heard of it but Google changed that. Looks like an interesting concept. Probably similar to mail in rebates and unlimited fitness memberships, they count on people not mailing rebate or using gym as much as they could. I'd rather have a root canal than have to watch a movie a day in a theater. Last theater movie I saw was Grand Torino and the one before that was Open Range. I doubt I will partake. ;)

Its doubtful that many people these days would see over 20 movies in a 2-3 month period. If only because no one is putting out that many good films these days. Perhaps there's an answer right there....sort of like when the local MLB baseball team gives away free tickets to all the unsold seats 20 minutes after the game has started.

Is that the "Costco" movie deal that's being met with so many positive comments ?

Not related to Costco. Company is called Movie Pass.
If you are retired (like my sister) this works out great, and even if the movie isn't the best, it barely cost you anything to see it.
For the cost, if you don't like it, walk out of the theatre and try again tomorrow!

My son has it for he and his kids. He uses it occasionally. The program is mainly intended to fill theater seats in the hope that there will be higher sales of popcorn, soda pop, etc., which is where the theaters make most of their profit.

I've been thinking about getting it. My daughter has it and loves it so far.

The only holdup is the theater I like is an AMC and they won't let you use it to buy tickets online and reserve seats. I only do the reserve thing, and only go to theaters where I can put my feet up and have a glass or wine or beer.
