I don't but came across this, thought it looked unusual. I believe made prior to 1897 before being bought out by Dietz. (I just looked this up), Model 1B. It may have a replacement globe as there is no lettering. Pretty neat. Anyone collect these things or know anything about this one?

I have a matching pair a friend gave me a few years ago. No clue about them.

I don't collect them but I have a small assortment of mainly Dietz railroad lanterns. I believe I have four with red globes. We use them for foul weather lanterns, and I've used the Dietz Little Wizard lanterns with the red globes as marking lights in emergency situations in the past. As you can tell by the dust they've been hanging around in my shop for a while.

I have only one Lionel Electric Trains Collector's Club commemorative real Kerosene Lantern that was made by the original manufacturer to commemorate the LCCA's 25th anniversary. It remains brand new in the original box and has never been used. I also have 3 or 4 old used ones (inherited) but do not know much about them. Those were used back in the day for blackouts and power failures before back-up generators became a common household item. I am not a collector of these, just happen to have some - lol.

Off the topic slightly, but I have a very few old kerosene lanterns my grandparents used before rural electricification (1940s in northeastern Iowa). Folks were collecting them in the 70s - has that fad gone away?

This lantern is actually a running light off of an American LaFrance fire apparatus.
