Anyone still use your Gradmas comforters

My mom made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren and they are all treasured by the respective owners. When she passed away last December and we were dividing things up, her remaining quilts were among the first things to get scooped up. Everyone wanted "one more" of mom's quilts.

Our grandkids do and love them. My wife did eight of them a couple of years ago for Christmas.

Yup, do still use a comforter and quilt from my grandmother. She passed in 1970, so that'll tell you how old they are. Still remember her having the quilting-frame in her back bedroom, where there was no heat. That was where Pa and I slept when we visited. So cold one night that the glass of water Pa kept by the bed froze. Yet, that comforter lived up to its name. Rocking-chair memory....

My Maternal Grandmother was great at sewing. When I was just a sprout she made a blanket for me. Just the right size for a single bed. Flannel on the bottom and really comfortable. When I became a teenager I started dating constantly, and she and my Mom figured I would get married young. (I had no plans to do so, I was havin' too much fun, and marriage TERRIFIED me!). Grandma made a new blanket big enough for a double bed. It would almost touch the floor on both sides. Flannel, just like the little one. Missus Fan has rebuilt it numerous times. I still sleep with it. Used to take it everywhere. Even took it on our honeymoon, and it had it's own suitcase.
It is pretty tattered now, but I ain't gonna give it up.
I told Missus Fan I intend to be buried with my blankie.

I'm 67 and I still have my grandmother's quilt that she made for me when I was six. Not long ago I found a bunch of USAF woodland green camo uniforms. They aren't in the best of shape but I have enough to have a quilt made. It will be all camo, no buttons or insignias, etc. The daughter of one of my deceased former co-workers is going to make it for me. I've seen some of her stuff and it is top notch.
