Anyone use Martindale machetes?

This thread prompted me to retrieve my machete from the truck and resharpen it today. It's a "Nicholson" brand, purchased at a local surveyors supply place. Redeeming feature is a wrap-around handguard. Its limited use and probable abuse on my part preclude any meaningful evaluation, other than "way better than an axe or loppers for light duty use..."

Another vote for Woodman's Pal.
Great product!

T-Star, yeah I think they are collectible. I also have a V-44 US Marine Raider Knife & Leather Sheath. Made by Collins as well, I picked it up in Hawaii in 1946.

The V-44 is definitely very collectible, although I don't know present values.

The Woodsman's Pal is featured in the current, "Knives Illustrated", the story by the same guy who wrote about Martindale for Knife World in May. His name is Abe Elias, although I've never heard of him until now.

This particular one is made by Condor ($50). I don't know a thing about the company or product (it better be good for 50 clams), however I wanted to show the design I prefer.
I am the grandson and nephew of a surveyor and have spent my fair share cutting line and various other tasks involving a Machete. This design, by far, is the handiest. The "hook" on the end allows you to "grab" the cut material and throw it out of your way. Also, the heavier end, from the wide hook, gives the machete more momentum to cut through things. It is really a good design and works well. You might look into it. I always tried to get Dad's when he wasn't looking.

Martindale makes one like that. The article in Knife World said that they were used in the movie, Wild Geese. I need to watch that again, if I can find a copy at a reasoable price.

Where is the Condor brand made? Sounds like maybe Peru or some other country bordering the Andes?
