The take apart is a good feature on a .22 can- .22 lr is dirty! As the others said it all depends on what ya want to put it on and all the big names are decent. I just ordered a .22 muzzle can and want a 5.56 can this summer I believe... we will see...
this is kinda why i suggested the phantom 556.. the large flash hider/ adaptor hole in the rear of the can makes for very easy cleaning and if he had bought it first there would be no need for a second can and 200 dollar tax.. but both like having both and if they can afford it more power to them.. but i want 1 that will fit as many guns as posible
Are you subject to yearly BATF inspections
Not to hijack this thread but I guess it's relevant... how often does this actually happen?
basicly you can shoot any caliber smaller(weeker) than what its intended for.. dont know if its recomended but it works we have fired half a million rounds threw a phantom 556 on a 22 .. the only prob. i can see with the ones you can take apart is that if your not careful you can cross thread them and your can is scrap(they use fine threads) or because its aluminum if you get carbon or trash in your threads they r easily gumed up.. and your can is scrap.. and depending on what you clean your can with you can make the surfaces more inclined to build carbon...(back to the disadvantages of and aluminum can)
Just so you know a 22 will still be just as loud as a 223 when using hv ammo... the noise you hear with a suppressed 223 isnt so much the gun( yes the heavier bolt being thrown to the rear faster is louder) its the sonic boom of the bullet.. if you shoot hv 22s threw a 16" barrel they will go supersonic creating the same boom...
