Anything but the Sig P365

First, I do love my Shield, and both compacts!

That being said, I do wish you wouldn't bad mouth the Sig. Right now, it's on my want list! lol

The Sig is a great carry IMO, I still shoot my Shield a tad tighter but have run custom sights that spoiled me. Really like the 365’s trigger and extra mag cap, have to say the Shield is a very strong CCW and time will tell what is EDC’ed but I’m giving the Sig a fair try.

Rented a P365 yesterday, compared it to my pocket carry, a PF9. They are virtually the same size, the P365 a touch wider, (maybe an 1/8"), in the grip, the P365 a touch shorter, barrel to grip end. 3 more rounds, significantly softer shooting, (so is a Shield but the Shield isn't a pocket gun), I was more accurate with the P365, I've owned the PF9 for over 5 years, installed a Northwood trigger, WAY more practice, it's a no brainer for me.

From what I've read of the G43X so far, it's only about 9/16" longer in the grip and about 1/8" wider. I'll have to see how that translates to concealment and comfort of grip before I'd be too interested. As it stands, some unforeseen problem with the P365 not withstanding, it would take something very significant to convince me to change from the P365. Of course, this is based on my methods of carry and how the pistol fits me.

I don't want you to think I have a major beef with Sig. Rather, I've had too many silly discussions with Adherents to the Cult of Sig. It's like talking to psycho fans of Apple products: awful. "Oh, I see you stil have a pc. I guess you haven't heard of a little thing called the Apple Mac. You know, I don't get viruses." No **** hipster mcturtleneck, but my pc works with software people actually use and the remaining $1200 I would have spent on a Mac can buy a lot of antiviral software, thanks.

All the Sig Fanboys paraded around when the P320 was anointed by the US military, which is nifty and a feather in their cap but not proof positive that the P320 was actually the best choice, for a bunch of reasons they weren't inclined to debate. God, they're appalling. And lo, how the multitude gnashed their teeth and rent their garments when they heard reports of malfunctions and of failed drop-testing!

And yours seems worthless for not offering anything of value.

The 365 beats the snot out of the G26 hands down from weight, thickness, accuracy, trigger and ergonomics

Maybe you should actually SHOOT one

I shot my friends....it was ok.....not as fantastic as the fanboy's extrol

I prefer my Shield as I feel one can get too small in guns....phones...cars etc

Why do some people think they need 15 dozen bullets in a sub compact carry gun? Going to war? Zombie apocalypse? End of the world as we know it?

Let's see, how about mobs blocking highways, dragging people out of their cars and beating them to death?

Geoff
Who is working with his SWaMPy 9c and an extended magazine/grip to replace his Kahr P9094N as daily carry.

Is Glock REALLY going to release a model to compete with the P365 or are you guys just spreddin’ rumors?

Don’t see one reason why or how any of these jamomatic breakage prone cheaped out tiny autos are one iota better than a J-frame that will work every time.

Rumors. Glock doubled down on single stacks with their G43X and G48. They didn’t go with a semi-double stack mag.

I find mine to be adequate to the role and task. It shoots as well as my Glock 43 but the recoil is at least 1/3 softer. This is a big deal for this size gun.

As for durability: A recent build should be fine until they find the next bug.

I was issued Sig P Series pistols on a couple of occasions during my career. Before I retired, I was also on the T&E team for a new service weapon, for which the P320 was a contender.

My opinion: once upon a time Sig was a benchmark in quality. Today, I wouldn't trade a bucket of warm spit for any of their current offerings.

A swing and a miss.

The Sig 365 has mim, made in India, strikers and they break at a phenomenally alarming rate. It is an inferior weapon, in spades, to any Glock handgun.

Sig's best days are at least a decade behind them. Their reputation, or whats left of it, is being shredded almost daily with report after report of faulty and broken 365's that need to go back to the mothership for repairs.

And how about 320's that are unsafe and shooting officers in the leg when they undress at the end of their shift and drop their gun belt to the floor. Sig doesn't want to admit that they are not drop safe, so they just issue a "voluntary" upgrade program, instead of doing the honorable and professional thing, and issuing a full recall.
So what’s your point besides your opinion, Smith went through
Very similar issues with their striker fired pistols before they got it right. If it works for you go for it.

I have only owned 2 Sigs. One is the P 365 and the other a P 320 Compact. I can't speak about the traditional model Sigs except I qualified with a Sig P220 I borrowed when my agency switched to semi-autos and as a range officer, I needed to qualify with a revolver and semi-auto. I never cared for traditional double-action and the long trigger reach of Sig pistols, like the 226 didn't suit me. I have over 1,500 rounds through my Sig P320 Compact with no issues. It suits me. To each his own.

As soon as they come out with the model with the thumb safety, I'm buying a P365 myself.
But only if there is not something jacked-up about the design of the safety.

A friend of mine ask me about the 365, he wanted it for a church gun I said no way would I except for the gun being built in 2019 . He should have went with the new 2.0 Smith Compact for what he wanted .

when the model with safety comes out, i'll give it a test drive, even though striker fired is not my preferred platform. the size makes it perfect for carrying during the warm season and i've had very good experiences with Sig pistols.

Now this is "To Hell-and-Back Reliability". A "NSW" serialized P226 Navy (only 2000 made with some proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors Fund) Cohen is taking SiG to the toilet, as he did Kimber. When SiG starts using high quality parts in the P365, it will be a contender. I have owned quite a few SiG's over the years and today's offerings, do not stack up.

SCCY CPX-2 anyone? Size similar to the Shield, 10+1 rounds, DAO hammer fired with restrike. Some complain about the trigger but to me was about the same as a DA revolver pull. Just my 2 cents worth.
