Anything but the Sig P365

I'm sure the Sig is a fine weapon. They are well known as a solid reliable company. However, for the most part I no longer have to have the best and latest thing out. My Shield 9 V1 was unbelievably cheap, shoots well, feels pretty good in my hand and does everything I need for basic EDC. I haven't actually shot the Sig and I might like it a lot if I did but holding it, the grip feels too round in my hand. I'm sure I'd probably be happy with one but in my case why bother.

Because...NEW GUN for you! :D

You Hit that Nail On The Head

I was in a LGS this morning and had the opportunity to hold / check out the Sig 365. It seemed nice enough for what it was built for. But without shooting it I can't really comment on one vs a SW that doesn't exist yet. The Glock is a personal choice. i seemed to have stirred up a hornets nest. I have nothing against Glocks. They have been very good LEO pistols for a long time. I just don't like the way they feel in my hand. I have bought and sold several trying to like them. I just don't.
Yes, it's how they feel in the hand. The grip is too flat and the
angle of the grip should have been corrected years ago. For those that a Glock was their first experience with a side arm and have continued using them .....this is no issue. I'm like you, bought a G26 and found the grip angle awful and the pistol felt "fat".
So, I'm sticking to other brands. I've found the P365 has a perfect "feel", especially Sig did it with a small sidearm.
Shot Show and Glock? Bring out a G19 with an improved grip angle and I'll buy one. Glock did a lot other things right.
Stay safe

Why follow the crowd? They will lead you astray. Wise people won't trust their family's and their life for a couple extra rounds of capacity. If you need 12 rounds to stop threats you're not practicing enough.

I practice much more, than many average gun shooters. I'm not as fast as Jerry Miculek, but it gives me something to work towards. My wife also spends much time, at the indoor, as well as our desert shooting ranges.

As to the threat, we'll never know what it is. It may never happen. It could be a worst case. Therefore, I like the idea of increased capacity in a small package, that's amazingly accurate for it's size. The 365 fits the bill.

Most of the time, but there are no absolutes. I'm familiar with numerous shootings where it took a high number of rounds(good hits) to stop a determined bad guy. I'm usually fine with a 5 round snub, but do feel the need to keep several high capacity Glocks available.

Smith needs to do this if they want to save their market share that the Shield had earned them. The Shield led the market when it came out, and Smith has sold, what?, a couple million of them. But to some extent the Glock 43, and now the P365 have successfully taken sales away from the Shield. Smith is going have to pull a major rabbit out if it's hat if it wants that business back.

If I were them, I'd want a 10 round 9mm that's no longer or taller than the current 9mm shield with the 7 round mag, and no more than 2mm wider. I would also do a second gun that would be a REALLY tiny 9mm. Something LCP sized, with a 6 round minimum magazine (maybe with larger capacity extended length mags.)

Those two guns would bracket most of the market.

S&W needs to circle back around and come up with something which rivals the Sig P365 for capacity-to-size-ration. If they drop the M&P Compact and the Shield into a blender they should be able to manage this.

S&W needs to do this. The Sig fans are kind of insufferable.

Shield all the way . this new Sig could have been a winner but a lot are being sent back I would never buy one . I have a Shield L/E package , 3 mags no safe , fact night sights , and been flawless . 9 mm . no problems like the Sigs have .

Seriously? No one ever said they wish they had too much ammo; besides, 12 rounds weighs as much as others with 6 or 7. I'll take 12 rounds over 6 everyday.

Had. Maybe back in March there were some issues after initial release, but nowhere near that send back amount now (minimal dead front sight issues). And it’s not like a Shield never went back during its’ initial release.

Regardless, people should get what they want. What shouldn’t happen is hating on other gun companies so bad, folks post negative rumors never having owned the product (not meant for you triaxle, your post seemed reasonable).

I have both a Shield PC and a P365 (and a SW 1911 3”, P229, DW Guardian, DW V-Bob, and DW ECP, and a Wilson Protector Elite. Oh, and a SW .380 EZ). I pretty much buy what I think will work for me/wife. There are forum warrior detractors for every one of those guns I listed. I like them all...or I wouldn’t own them. I suspect there are many like me, who get what they like without paying much attention to the forums. For me, the P365 carries better than the Shield (P365 is smaller and lighter (loaded - my Shield is a .45).

If you like your Shield, I would never say you shouldn’t. I would just suggest you try the P365 before you discount it. And Sig has a lifetime warranty, just like SW.

I tried the P365 and G43. There's just not enough real estate there for my big paws.

I'll stick with the Shield for compact semi auto carry for now.

And THAT is a legit reason when it comes to small guns. My hands, while wide, are not gorilla mitts and this gun - especially with the 12 round mag, fits my hand perfectly. Yes, I shoot my G26 better - at the moment - but then I have had the G26 for over 20 years; I have had the 365 just a few months (and the weather has not allowed me enough time), but what time I have spent has been incredible.

Definitely not a gun for larger hands. Mine are medium and I’m thankful they thought of the magazine extension...or my pinkie would become a rest.

When I first got the P365, the grip felt too small to me, front strap to back strap. I just received and mounted the Hogue Hand-All sleeve. It made a huge difference for me. It now feels better in my hand than the Shield (felt too narrow) and the G43 (also too narrow). I have large hands, so it makes a big difference. Although, I've got to say have never liked any kind of rubber-type sleeve on the grip of any of my other pistols, Talon grips being the only exception.

Then there's the converse; why be hesitant to try something new? You may find it suits you better

I for one would like to see the 3.6 with a ten round mag since I do not live in a free state. I hope S&W is listening.

I'd like to see the 3.6" with a shorter grip and 12rd mag a la the 1.0 compact. Something comparable to the P320SC, FNS9-C or G26

A fellow forum member I've met and whose opinion I respect as he has carried a gun for a living, recently switched to the SIG 365. He also bought one for his son. He is perfectly happy with the SIG. Based upon his opinion I'd get a SIG if I were currently in the market for a carry gun.

Our friend got one of the first ones. He pestered me for awhile, and I caved in after I was content that the issues were fixed, and I could get it at dealer cost.
I have close to 500 trouble free rounds with reloads and factory ammo. AFAIK, Bill and his son have had zero issues or I would have heard. Mine is carried daily.
No regrets.
