Apex for Shield - Not So Sure

Do you carry with the external safety off? What makes you concerned about an accidental discharge? Are you concerned about it while holstering? Do you pocket carry without anything covering the trigger?

I ask because I am trying to understand. I could not feel more differently.

I may be in the wrong here, but as far as I'm concerned, if someone is worried about having an AD, then maybe they should practice safe firearm handling a lot more before they carry a weapon. I've been carrying for 7 years now since I turned 21. Never carried a firearm with a safety in the on position, and have never had nor thought about an AD since I make sure I always handle my firearms with utmost care and respect when I know a round is in the chamber, and even when there is no round in it. It's all about safe practices and keeping your head straight when you carry. Be responsible and you'll be fine. If anyone can add to that, please, by all means.

Im a fan of the Apex. I have the sear only, for about 4.5lb pull. Love it and have zero concerns with the weight. When the polymer trigger hits the market, I'm getting that too.

I left the stock trigger in my Shield and just polished everything up so it was smooth.

I put the Apex SCK in my shields and it did NOT lighten the pull...in fact, it added almost a pound on my Lyman trigger pull gauge.

The big benefit to the SCK was the fact that it made the trigger feel, well...like a trigger...smooth, clean break, not lighter.

If you leave the factory springs in the SCK will make the pull lighter...it you install the entire kit the pull will not be lighter. Just better...
