As I have small hands, I prefer the flat. My index finger touches the face at a downward diagonal angle and the flat trigger has less constraints.
This is all personal preference. YMMV
 
I got the round trigger and it works great, I love it. Just wish Apex made a similar product for my SW99OL....I'd put that puppy on in a heartbeat.

I got the rounded trigger and it works great for me. I'm not a fan of the flat style triggers, personal preference.
 
To be sure we're all on the same page, the Apex triggers all have flat faces, but one is curved in a traditional profile while the other is straight. I have the curved in my Shield and like it well enough, but if you're on a budget the duty/carry kit sans the trigger has the components than make the real performance improvement. If I was doing it again, that's the way I'd go.
