Apparent design flaw on the SW22 Victory.

SailDesign, Have you sent your Mark IV back, yet? It's been recalled.

Yup - one of the first to go back. All fixed and with the little "S" on the safety and everything. 2 weeks out, and that was over the 4th of July holiday time.

Trigger pull "feels" better, but I never checked it before it left so no hard numbers. Great pistol, finally designed the way it should have been long ago.

This is a design flaw in my opinion (as a retired Mechanical Engineer for the Navy). It is also well documented on the net. My 2 cents:
a) This potential single point failure should have been foreseen by an (experienced) design team.
b) This should have been found in prototype testing.
c) The developers could have used a different pitch /thread or added a compression washer to cure this within the current design .
Meanwhile, is you have found, owners have used O rings and or Purple Loc- Tite to bandaide the issue.

I always wondered why they didn't go with a screw-and-cam, so you screw it in until finger-tight, then drop the cam and lock it. Works well on QD scope mounts, etc.

Something to consider is every time a screw or bolt is tightened with fairly heavy torque it is stretching the screw or bolt. How many times strip cleaning the gun before the screw snaps or strips? Sorry but this is a design flaw as far as I see it. I sold my Victory 22 and bought an MKIV. Yes it has had the safety update which took a total of two weeks being gone. I press a button for take down and don't have to carry a little wrench with me when I shoot it.

I would like to see someone, make a stud design. Not only that make a cam lever, like a quick release, kinda like American Defence mounts for red dot or scope. I believe a design like that would require no tools for disassembly, and even quicker to take apart for cleaning. Imo.

Hey you said it first, you get the credit. Your idea in my mind, would make an excellent solution to this problem. Although, i do believe frame would have to be modified, with a semi circle. Im hoping still someone will offer this as service. I love my victory.
