I bought mine, TBB1971, in September, 1987. The introductory 422's came packaged with a 50 round box of ammo, a bottle of oil and a paper target.
It's been shot a lot since then and I do not recall ever having a stoppage. A big part of that is their magazine is based on S&W's precision, expensive Model 41 target pistol's magazine.
I do not know anybody who has had problems with their 422-622 series guns unless somebody dinked with them. They are great little field guns. I think they are a better pistol than what S&W replaced them with.
