Like other western New Yorkers here , I'm in the path of totality. I honestly could not care less. The back of my house faces south. I can sit and watch it perfectly but probably won't remember.
The irony is that we have so few cloudy days here, regardless of the season, that it "just figures." Maybe we'll catch a break at the right time - I hope so.

The Noon News had a story about local hotels cancelling ALL old reservations, and rebooking at up to 5X the price. One particular Travel Agency had 88 rooms booked since 2020. Now his tour had to find other farther away hotels and they were out thousands of dollars.
Now there's a job for Leticia James. Those hotels should pay huge fines.
