Anyone hear of Regis .22 revolver? A nine shot, swing out revolver, sort of full size S&W revolver made in Argentina.
In the late 70's or early 80's Argentina made a law that certain items sold in Argentina must be made there. They enlarged cities in the south with manufacturing zones and gave tax incentives to relocate. Per their interpretation if the product was shipped in parts and assembled there it qualified to be stamped IA or Industria Argentina.
The revolver shown in the link is not a Rexio, it is a gun designed by an Argentine soldier named García Reynoso, which happened in Europe in the 1890s and the gun was manufactured in Belgium.https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenW...areynosos_selfloading_autoejecting/?rdt=37471
makes russian roulette alot more "russian".
Lasserre S.A. is/was the company that made what was known in the USA as the super commanche pistol. In argentina the product name was REXIO something. can find very old archive saved photos of "argintina 22lr revolver" that come in factory boxes with REXIO printed on the side.
Imported By is visible, but the importer company name is covered up.
Isn't Bersa Argentine?
I don't know the law you mention, what I remember clarified that at that time I was in high school is that imports were closed due to the economic problems that my country was going through.
