I had lots of fun in the local A/N store back in the 1950s. That was where all the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts got their canteens, mess kits, knapsacks, etc., real WWII surplus, maybe some from Korea. In Vanceburg KY, not too far from where I grew up, there was an old shoe factory building just crammed full of surplus stuff, mainly electronics, about anything you could think of. You could spend a whole weekend in that place.
