As Dangerous as Bears and Moose

Locally we had a game warden gored by a smaller four point buck during some sort of relocation where the animals were in a horse trailer type rig, he was doing the typical stand in front of them with your arms outstretched saying "Whoa, buddy....Whoa." Buddy lowered his head and charged, killed him before they could get him airlifted. Same year an old rancher/farmer was killed by an old seed bull he'd owned for decades, leading him around the ring when WHAM!

You don't need no stinking horns.

Have you seed the video of what a mule did to a mountain lion
with just its front feet and teeth !!

That video was crazy..................
but with the dog under the car,
the lady should have gone back inside her house.

Bring on the Buffalo !!

Wondering if she was a long time local resident or a recent transplant? I'd guess recent.

Most transplants don't spend two winters in Evanston. BIL was there for 15 years as are some other relatives. It gets a lot of winter.

Stupid person was told to back up. Had she not freaked out and went after the deer screaming and swinging her purse it would have been okay and the deer would still be alive.
Think she'll listen now? I know I'm damaged just listening to her.

Deer was asleep and was spooked awake. He gets up all what the hhhh "DOG" and his defense mode goes fully on and stayed on. Dogs can trip a deer's trigger way quicker that people can. If that buck would have been awake when they came out he would have just left. She had no doubt seen that guy before, she failed to recognize he was in fight or die panic mode.

I have some deer that hang out on my place. We see each other almost every day. They are fairly tame, but, I avoid spooking them and never act aggressive to them. I flat avoid Bucky in mid to late Nov

Wildlife be wild.

Angus learned that the heard way one morning when he somehow got a hold of a squirrel. That dog came flying back into the house yelping with a brand new pierced ear! :D
My old dog Bubba learned the same lesson in the marsh with a nutria!. Sometimes ya just got to let them learn on their own.

Squirrels. A very young Steelslaver and his cousin thought they could catch a squirrel on their Grandma.s trellis We had both climbed up about 8' and had the squirrel trapped on a cross bar between us. I "lucked out" and he came my way and I grabbed him. Like grabbing a ball off concertina wire and having it come undone. That is the last live wild animal I ever grabbed, let me tell you what.

Interestingly enough we have a young cat that stalks the deer and even pounces on their legs. I worried they would kick him to pieces but they seem to just think of him as a pest.
