I purchase two Australia police S&W model 10 with 3" barrels. I found out that they used a 147gr copper jacketed hollow point. Does anyone anything about the ammo?

The only two that I know of are:
Winchesters +P+ 147
Federal +P+ 147 hydra shock

Did a company in Australia or was it a US company

It was probably the Winchester brand. Winchester has a big influence in Australia.

My friend that was in the prison service replied this:
"The NSW Govt issue round was a Winchester 158Gn FMJ RN"
He added that they later switched to Winchester 125 gn hollow points due to poor performance from the 158 gn ammo. He told me a funny story that I've requested permission to post here, I'll let you know if he gives his OK.
Another Aussie in West Australia said that LEO's there used mostly Winchester 110 gn HP in the .38's. Both added that most all have switched over to .40 Glocks now So, there you are!

The Victoria Police issue round has been the Winchester 147 jhp for about the last 15 years. Chrono runs about 900 to 920 fps. It is not +p+.
