Bad Tranny

We actually have 3, so logistically, the mini-van makes the most sense. However, I hate mini-vans and my wife has a strong dislike for them as well, they are just practical.

as would the station wagon the minivan pretty much replaced.
About equal in dignity points, but as they are based on a pre existing 4 door platform, they tend to be far more predictable in their engineering.
end result handles better, gets better mileage and tends to hold up to the driving tendencies of ladies a bit better.
I kinda miss em for that, as well as the potential to hot rod em into a dragster hearse after the kids can drive themselves and ya get the need to reclaim some of the dignity you gave up for the family mission

Unless it was a 1984 Baby Blue Ford Escort Station Wagon, my moms ride for most of my youth, kinda hard to hot rod that one!

I hate to read that the Honda was such a bad deal for you. I worked at Honda/Acura dealerships for quite a while, & I wouldn't consider your experience "typical" in any way. But I guess anyone can build a bad one.

I own an auto repair shop and we have had a ton of oddyseys lose their transmission at or before the 100,000 mile mark. Had an 05 just a couple weeks ago with a bunch of transmission codes. Im guessing at a dealership they don't see Alot of the higher mileage ones like i do.The guy decided to just drive it till it quits.

Grand caravans are an electrical nightmare. I advise customers to stay away from them.

I think we have decided to proceed with repairs, if GM assists, and then trade. If GM doesn't assist, we will trade as is. I think we are going to go with a new Toyota Sienna. They have 0.0% interest right now...I just hate the thought of a car payment, cuts down on the number of guns I can buy.

A sienna is a good choice although i try to get people to buy American. One thing people don't know is Toyotas are built kn the US and Alot of American cars are built in Mexico or Canada :(
