Ban the American Flag?

Not me, but the majority seem to feel it should be, just to keep the children safe. In our modern society the schools take in all sorts, America hating immigrants, children with American hating parents, etc.. School administrators are worried about lawsuits, so it probably is easier to ban anything that might cause the slightest controversy.

This is total PC BS. Teach the kids respect for the flag and settle any fights with proper discipline. The symbol of our country should never be dishonored or sacrificed to expediency. Just because the "solution" was easy doesn't make it right. Suck it up and fly the flag proudly. Those school administrators should have another think on it this Memorial Day, when we honor those who have given their very lives for that flag. Shame on those lily-livered excuses for "teachers." They are a disgrace to their profession.

Even the suggestion is incomprehensible. I was told over forty years ago that America would be overthrown from within and never a shot would be fired. High school govt. class taught by our head football coach. I think he knew what he was talking about and it is coming to pass.

That this thought could even be entertained much less written down is absolutely, positively FREAKING insane

Has this country gone so totally into the tank????????????? Somebody needs a good whipping.

Where do they want to ban it next? state capitols, White House, Arlington?

Maybe all those flags in all the cemeterys offend somebody.

What a crock!

Flock here for America's jobs (and welfare) and prosperty and then tell us we shouldn't fly our symbol of freedom where ever we wish to! These people need a serious adjustment.

Those who would remove the flag from our schools need to visit a few of our national cemetarys and understand the cost of their freedoms and privileges.

Well, that is just plain stupid.

I will say that I agree with the Supreme Court that burning the flag is protected under the 1st Amendment, even though I think it's disgusting conduct, sort of like using the "N" word.

There are few things in constitutional law that I feel as strongly about as our first and second amendment rights, even though some idiot out there will always abuse it in some way.

Guys, it's not just the schools...

It's the GunBoards, unless you haven't been taking notice. There are Progressive Liberals that are now running other major boards. They spread the hate message, the Bush bashing, and the Obama agenda openly. If this post came up over there....they would be telling you how you are basically too stupid to get the concept of eliminating the American flag from the schools was actually a good thing.

This is one of a few GunBoards that wouldn't tolerate the above. But there are now two major Boards that encourage the Lib/Progressive debate and now have Libs as Moderators...

Maybe we should fix our own problems first....

I am all for using the code as to the improper use of our national or regional symbols.

I would never wear an American flag on printed T-shirt, I personally think it is demeaning. An arm patch, pin or other tasteful device- certainly. Anything else should be printed or stylized bunting.

The same goes for certain other symbols of American history.

It's all about respect.
Many folks that are fight'n for the freedom to display it need to take a refresher course on it's proper use and display.

I'm still aggravated that the many US Post offices don't take it down at night any longer, and even when flown at night, do not have a light on it.

I am not a veteran, heck- never was a boy scout....but I highly respect and thank each and every one that has ever fought to keep our country great, and know the meaning of That symbol of our country.

I think that instead of sit'n back on our haunches and complaining- it's time to be proactive about it.
Veterans associations should tour schools and give a quick course on how to treat the American Flag to as many children as possible and integrate it wherever possible. I'd volunteer to do that, and would if no one else will. Kind of like an Eddie Eagle program, but put on by the Veteran associations.

Y'all got me fired up.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!

This is AMERICA and our FLAG should not be banned for any reason ever. I don't think the majority of our people want our flag banned for any reason anywhere. As an Army Veteran, I am not at all happy with the direction our so called leaders are taking our Country. When our FLAG, the symbol of our FREEDOM and what our country stands for is ever BANNED, the Revolution will begin and I will be 100% ready!

Anyone who is offended by the American flag has no business in America

we will never be over come by any country it will be from the inside as the other poster said, and looks like its starting, keep your powder dry!

I have been sayin' for years that the Muslims will take over America, but they will have to take it away from the Mexicans because we will have already surrendered it to them.

Everytime they raise taxes, expand programs, impose new rules and regs, chip away at our liberties, it's always "for the children".

Heck No....educate the children about what the Flag stands for, teach them to respect it, and we will ALL be the better for it. Just the fact that any school is considering removing the flag, shows why the education system is broken in many areas. People who object to OUR Flag should leave the country, and fly their own flag elsewhere.

cocked and locked, that's how I guard my flag. Going for for the flag is just as bad as going for our guns, and they really don't see that.
