I got banned from the SIG forum a year or so ago, for making a joke about the e2 grips, relating hand size to...well, you know. Nothing profane or explicit, although there even the moderator uses profanity. Another member responded with his own joke, for which the moderator scolded him. He responded with some ire, and the moderator banned us both! I hadn't even responded or commented after the initial exchange of jokes.

Lesson learned: SIGs are serious guns. No kidding.

I've read a few posts on THR after a goodle search turned up some topics there, but I've never had the urge to join.

Maybe the mod was "compensating" for something?!

only forum I ever had problems with was the Hi-point forums, even though the people running it have changed and the mods are gone I will never go back.

I got banned from that one (I have the carbine). That was 2-3 years ago. Been getting emails from them stating I haven't posted in the forum
in a while. Don't plan to go back.

THR has become narrowly focused, especially in the General Discussion area. And if you dare to question legal questions in the Legal forum, you are informed, in no uncertain terms, that the focus has to be on existing cases which support RKBA.

I was informed that my opinion on the concept "stare decisis" wasn't appreciated. I also questioned the legitimacy of Marbury v. Madison, when I wrote that Chief Justice Marshall should have recused himself, since he was Secretary of State, when the original dispute arose. I'm not the only person who believes that the U.S. Supreme Court is not the final authority. None other than President Andrew Jackson defied a Supreme Court decision.

I commented that stare decisis allowed lazy jurists and lawyers to avoid going back to original meaning in law. I cited none other than Justice Louis Brandeis, when I wrote that stare decisis corrupted the original definition of a particular law.

Since I'm not a lawyer, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express the previous night, I expect that my questions should be taken seriously, since there are a number of lawyers who haunt the Legal forum. I was informed by one of the administrators that theoretical questions were not welcome in the Legal forum, and that I should stick to current legal cases.

I worked around lawyers for many years, and I count several judges and attorneys as friends, and I never felt that any question asked out of ignorance wasn't worthy of an answer. I've had at least one Federal judge agree with my assessment of stare decisis.

I was banned for life from the Firing Line when I cited differences between liberal and conservative philosophies. They have a strict policy on personal (ad hominem) attacks. However, I mentioned that modern liberal philosophy required no logical end-to-end thinking. Somehow, that was interpreted as an ad hominem attack; on who or what group I don't know. So I've been banned for life there, and the admins continued to pillory me long after I requested that my membership be canceled. They replied that they didn't cancel memberships, since they figured I would haunt the site (I haven't been back since my request). A friend of mine kept me informed. They haven't written anything libelous, but it shows the lack of mental acuity on their part.

i am still a member at tfl and thr but haven't been back in a long time. guess i just lost interest. as for bashing cops.......after a long career in LE i certainly know that many cops could use a good bashing.

I was a member with The High Road for ten years (2003-2013), but a couple weeks ago I finally lost my patience and let a couple of the more paranoid and cop hating members know what I really thought of them. I received my first ,and last, infraction notice and was banned for life. With an explanation mark I might add.

And now for the good news. You can add "I'm with the banned" as your signature!I would say it was a win-win situation. You got banned from a site you weren't happy with anyways. And we have gained a loyal member! Now go get some liquid refreshment and enjoy!

I'm surprised I haven't been banned here for not adhering to the majority (on this forum) political and religious orthodoxy. I'm glad I haven't been, it's a good forum about great firearms.

Forums reflect their owners, several people have told me the SIG forum is not very friendly, I have seen complaints about some M1911 and AR forums, I've been banned from some erstwhile conservative and veterans forums for making critical remarks. And we haven't even touched on the liberal forums. In Cyberspace, as in Real Life, don't go where you're not wanted or welcome or you don't feel comfortable.

I suppose I knew that would happen, but I finally had a belly- full.

However I don't plan on doing that here. For one I find the company over here to be more pleasant and two I collect Smith & Wesson products. I need to stay here.

I quit them several years ago along with a few others. Never lost any sleep over it.

Some forums let their members get carried away and then there are the favorites or buddies that are not held to the same standard. You won't find that here. Unless you have a banana!
