I was a member with The High Road for ten years (2003-2013), but a couple weeks ago I finally lost my patience and let a couple of the more paranoid and cop hating members know what I really thought of them. I received my first ,and last, infraction notice and was banned for life. With an explanation mark I might add.

Oh well. It sure felt good to finally tell them what I really thought.

I suppose I knew that would happen, but I finally had a belly- full.

However I don't plan on doing that here. For one I find the company over here to be more pleasant and two I collect Smith & Wesson products. I need to stay here.

Don't feel bad, I got banned from one forum for a comment made on a totally different forum. Go figure.

HaHa.....I have been warned a few times on a site I am a member of.....some days theu just spout too much garbage for me to sit back. I am sure you have been thrown out of better places before.

I used to go there almost exclusively and learned a lot over the years and for that I am thankful. Over time though, the feel of that forum has changed. A lot more posts from 'know it alls' and comments made that really aren't so 'high road'. For me, they lost that lovin' feeling. I still go there from time to time but this is the place that seems right to me. This forum is more laid back, people who have been at the sport a long time and know their stuff and are willing and eager to share their expertise...not to mention a sense of humor while doing it. Being asked to leave for standing up might just bode in your favor.

I was the same way. And in the early years I also learned alot from other posters over on THR. But times and forums change I guess.

In the past few years I'd detected a very strong change of attitude over at THR. Things got hostile and paranoid. Much of it directed at other members - many who had been there for many years. Anyway just wanted to say that I appreciate this forum. I actually spend most of my time now either here, the Colt Forum or imfdb.

As a member of numerous gun forums over many years, I've learned some individuals enjoy cutting down cops for simply following law required SOP's. You always read the events from their point of view. Maybe it's because they want to vent. They know they are faceless, nameless and simply feel tough when it comes to typing hurtful words on the internet. Therefore, I've become very selective which gun forums I visit and THR was one I deleted months ago.

I don't visit THR as often as I once did, but there are several very well informed members there that I have learned stuff from( rcmodel, archangelcd, etc.). It's an open forum, ignore the jerks and learn what you can, contribute when it is a contribution. That's the code I try to adhere to.

I have a French Lawyer, he's only fallen down once to surrender.

Checkman: I need to behave and stay here. (fixed)

Diamondback68: And your loss is what? (fixed)

Congratulations to all the April 1 survivors!

My standard answer -

When ever I hear anyone bad-mouthing the police, I quote an old bumper sticker I saw back in the '60s. It said;

"If you don't like the police, next time you are in trouble, call a HIPPIE".

I got banned from another forum for (among other things) reporting that a moderator was not only violating their ToS, but advocating criminal activity.
