Anyone else pick up on the inconsistencies in the article?

It is talking about a "Model 19 purchased by his dad in 1957" as a future gift.
The thing that triggered my ocd is the pictured revolver ,
First off it's a 6" and those didn't exist in 1957.
Next is it has the channel cut behind the ejector rod knurling so it's definitely a left hand thread, next while I cant see if the cylinder is recessed because of the angle is that there appears to be no barrel set pin so most likely a late production 19-4 or a 19-5.
The pictured gun is wearing pre 63 diamond walnut target stocks and has the early "Big butt" ampersand but even if there is a barrel set pin the earliest it could be is an early 6" Model 19-2 from around 1963 ish.
There is a side credit that says NRA member photo but don't think this pic goes with this story.

I noticed that. It was a member mail-in article in the "Favorite Firearms" section of the March issue and titled, A Birthday Gift From Dad. The photo of the gun was marked "NRA member photo", so I assumed it was supplied by the author. It is a .357 Magnum (pre-Model 27), not a .357 Combat Magnum. It's common for people to mis-identify pre-model marked guns. Heck, we get new members here who can't identify model marked guns!

I sent an email to the NRA editors and suggested they contact the author and let him know what he actually owns.

Just went back and double checked,
You are right the picture is a model 27..
The channel cut behind the knurled ejector rod end suggests it has to be a 27-1 or 27-2.

I didn't focus on the barrel's narrow rib...
It actually makes it even worse.
I'm guessing it might be a picture mix up as that gun should be Model marked.
