I don't care for this. Beavers or woodchucks, I prefer my fur bearing mammals flat, not curled. Why, the very idea!

I think some of you are not familiar with the term Woodchuck, A Woodchuck is another name for Ground Hog. Out West Marmots are often called Rock Chucks.
A Beaver is a rodent, but is not a mouse or Woodchuck!

I STILL can't come to grips with the fact that Curling is actually an Olympic sport! Should be classified with Darts, Bocci, Shuffleboard, etc.
In southern Ohio we call them groundhogs. Our more refined northern cousins call them Wood Chucks. At any rate down here in the hills we don't curl no beaver. If you fool with either one they will lay teeth to you that you won't forget.

In the mitten state, we call them targets.

They were disqualified from International competition when it was discovered that the "cats" were actually penguins in cat suits.

love them curly beavers but I don't see as many as I used too
Beavers cannot swim if you put 40grs of lead in their right ear. It totally upsets their center of gravity. With their center of gravity so upset their normal righting arm gets skewed to the bow which throws off their center of balance resulting in the center of gravity moving forward to the point that they submerge and never return to the surface. At least I think that is how it works, Has the same effect on rats and mice too. Really does a number on frogs ears.

Exactly! I wonder if they test for blood alcohol content and look for pretzel residue around their lips before each match. I wonder when they find time for physical conditioning; their training regimen must be rigorous - like Air Force boot camp.

Is the Air Force boot camp still as rigorous as it used to be? I've heard that they now require them to bunk two to a room at the Four Seasons, pushing the Gov to reserve suites for them.
And the breakfast menu has been limited to steak and eggs, but the mimosas are only available every other day.
How can they subject the recruits to these inconveniences?????
USAF boot camp taught me valuable life lessons.

Several years ago I was surprised to hear that Curling was supposedly invented by the Scots. Some of the other "sports" credited to the Scots, are golf and the Highland Games where one throws trees (caber toss), hammers, carry rocks for distance and other things. Just goes to show you what large quantities of alcoholic beverages will prompt you to do to relieve boredom.
Personally, I've found that large quantities of alcoholic beverages greatly improve golf. By the 13-14th hole, I'm way past 100 and pretty much a mobile hazard, but the cigars and beer make it so I don't care. A good walk spoiled!
