Besides myself....Are there any other .41 Magnum fans out there?

I'll START with - S&W should have made a 'M658'. ;)

Started with a Ruger BH .41 in 4-5/8"s.
Then - once bitten by the S&W bug, had to have a M58 - and was probably one of few that used that as a hunting tool - and took a few deer with it.

The M58 got replaced in the deer woods with at M57 6" and has put some venison in the freezer.....

** Forty One Magnum Contagion **

Uh-huh, I've sold a couple so I'm down to 72 from Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Taurus, Freedom Arms, Magnum Research, Dan Wesson, Jager, Uberti, Marlin and Henry Repeating Arms.

p.s. And it even says I "Likes: 41" up there in my in stats.

What an eclectic & fantastic collection of .41s!

I would love to find a pinned and recessed Model 57 either bright blue or nickel, four or six inch. Preferably one from the first three or four years of production with coke bottle target stocks and pinned on front sight base. A model 58 blue or nickel would also be nice.

Either one would look nice next to my 27-2 and 29-2. I already reload for 16 different calibers, so what's one more.

A man after my own heart. My M57 is a 5th year production, my M58 is a 4th year, both "S" prefix. I reload for ten handgun calibers and 3 rifle.

And yes, either one (or both) look good next to a M27-2 and M29-2.

My first "Magnum" was a Model 57 way back in 1975. I was just out of high school and .44 Magnums were unobtanium. I couldn't find a Model 29 anywhere, so I "settled" for the Model 57. I loved it and ended up never finding a need for a .44 until the late '90s. I shot a 5 point bull elk with it in 1978 and it worked perfectly. I no longer have my original, but have enjoyed a 657 Light Hunter since about 2004. Great gun and a wonderful cartridge.

I'll second the 658 notion.

This one is a close as I came, it is a Jovino EFFECTOR built on a model 58 frame. I presume that it is hard chromed.

BEAUTIFUL collection KO....72....I was at 46 at one point and am down in the low 30s now...

Bob

I've retired from pursuing new .41s to add to the collection, I think the last one was the Henry Big Boy Steel Carbine 5 years ago.

The breakdown:
1 Semi-auto pistol
9 Lever rifles
14 Single action revolvers
48 Double action revolvers

KO

Won at auction. Now has presentation stocks on it. Great shooter.
