Hello
My 1975 28-2 has the original magnas grip, but it my middle sized hands I have a problem to keep it correctly by shooting.
It's not an accuracy problem.
I don't want hogue grips, still got them on my 617.
What could be a better wood grip for my hands?
best regards

"I don't want hogue grips...."

I presume you mean you don't want rubber grips.

Hogue has some pretty nice wooden grips. I just bought a set for an L frame of mine.

I use Ahrends Retro Combats on mine, and I have smaller hands.uploadfromtaptalk1408475072612.jpg

Don't blame you for not wanting Hogue rubbers, if that's what you're talking about.

I don't see anything wrong with factory checkered target grips, myself. It's a traditional look, the checkering provides a good grip, and they aren't too large for medium sized hands like mine.

A Tyler T-Grip or Target Stocks. Try both and see what you like best.

Check ebay for deals on factory target stocks. They fit my hand very well and look best, imo. I just picked up a set that were listed as "Used but in good shape. no cracks/scratches". What showed up were stone cold mint factory stocks. Price was competitive to say the least.

I have smallish hands. Ok small hands, but love N frames. I bought a 25-2 some months back, the target grips are just a bit too big for a comfortable hold. I had a set of Miculek grips that were on another gun I had bought. Slipped them on the 25, love them. Not much for looks, but very comfortable for my hand size.

My 28, 6" no dash wears Herrett Target grips. They look cool, and fit well in my hand. All but 1 of my Smith Revolvers wear target grips.

Thanks guys, the Ahrends tactical grips are looking very good.
But certainly not avable in France...I will try to find an European dealer importing this item.
Best regards

I've yet to find stocks that work any better for me than S&W targets. I have medium size hands.

I couldn't agree more. S&W called them 'targets' for a reason. Magna's tend to slip (twist) in my hand. Targets just seem to provide better leverage and control. Aftermarket grips look like, uh...well, aftermarket grips.

My -2 Highway Patrolman with Hogue wood grips. They came with the gun and I like'em.

These former working "tools" wear rubber..saw no point in chewing up pretty wood getting in and out of a car...and if ever dropped, you could catch on first bounce.

Best.
