Where would one go to learn the differences between the EAB and EAE series? I haven't seen anyone post identifying a difference, but I assume there is one.....

The redesigned frame has a raised collar around the laser activation buttons, very easy to spot. With this new frame all should be good.

yes and no., the raised collar isn't the frame. it's the frames cover.

I had my frame replaced and i do not have the raised collars around the buttons
but I would think all the EAB's in the store may have the collars added. I know a few members on here got a new frame with a EAB and do not have the collars

the frame had, if i recall correctly, a new take down pin spring and pin added.

anything with a serial number of EAB you should be good.
Some with EAA's ahve not had any problems. they are more of a hit and miss with them.

No..... Differences between EAB and EAE

The raised ring around the laser buttons was introduced with the EAB run. (Although not all EAB frames have the new style cover.) What I'd like to learn is what changes occurred between the EAB and EAE series. So far, I think the only people who know that work for S&W and they don't seem to be talking.

Thanks,

BG

yes.
From what they told me that was a add on to the EAB+ numbers.
the people ( myself included) who had the EAA problem child's got the new frame some got the collars some didn't.

S&W considers the frame the metal part with the serial number in it. not the polymer cover over it.
