Sunday I was able to do a 4.7 mile Strenuous hike at Hanging Rock St Park. I did the Moore`s Wall loop Trail- which is one I have never done before and really wanted to do. At my age I was doubting if it was such a good idea but I truly hate getting old and missing out on life`s finer moments.
Photography is my passion and landscapes are my fav, so if I don't get off road I miss out, so I am glad to say I can still do it albeit very slowly, and I pay for it for several days afterward.

If you visit Utah we have what they call "The Mighty Five." Five National Parks. Zions and Bryce along with Arches are my top three. Each have beautiful hikes for all ages and skill levels.

Note: A few pics from our last trip to Bryce.

Make sure you are 'buddy' hiking when doing the more strenuous trails. A heart attack or stroke when by yourself is going to be much worse, if you survive, because of a delay in medical attention. We don't need to get stupid too when we get older. And it is more fun sharing the scenery with a friend or friends.

I usually hike with my two buddies Horace and Daniel, nobody else is as reliable or such quiet company.
Seriously, I never think about going with someone else even if I knew who to ask. My sweet wife has a hip issue and is unable to do the rough stuff anymore. Most of my friends have moved away or have gotten too infirm to hike now, so I have no one to accompany me.
I really enjoy the peace and quiet and besides I have outlived 3 of my younger brothers ,my Mother and Father both died much younger than me,- no one in my family lives a long time- so I`m on borrowed time anyway and dying out in the woods is as good a way as I can think of to go. I`m not in any hurry, but I am realistic and if its my time, then so be it, I`m ready.

Sir Great photos, thank you for the gracious invite I would really like to visit those fabulous parks. Maybe some day if I ever retire I will load up my old truck and head out west again. Several years ago my son and I drove his Jeep Wrangler Rubicon out to Co. to do the Black Bear Pass and a bunch of other mountain goat trails and we had a ball. I have been wanting to go back ever since, and those Utah parks have always appealed to me.
