Father of a former boss had some stories about the Gurkhas and their kukris. His unit was in Italy during WWII and the colocated Gurkhas provided night security against German infiltrators. He said that you HAD TO put on your uniform jacket if leaving your tent to take a pee so the Gurkhas could identify you. He said you never heard or saw a thing, but suddenly you would feel a hand on your shoulder feeling your epaulets, and a voice would whisper "Very good, Sir".
Evidence of infiltrators was usually removed by morning. Tidy folks, the Gurkhas.
Very mundane actually, and not scary at all. What is, actually, regardless of rumors, is the representation of a bovine hoof, apparently significant or important to Gurkhas. Don't believe it when they attribute other reasons for it; like what used to be said everytime they drew the Kurkri, they had to draw blood. Nope.
