Bloopers

To those guys, it's not "only a movie". It's a film infested with mistakes and they'll never get beyond that.

Movie bloopers I can chuckle about, documentaries, not so much. If you're doing a piece on the DeHavilland Mosquito, layoff the Douglas Boston or Beaufighter footage unless the voice over bloke is doing a comparison.

One of the Death Wish movies with Charles Bronson, I remember a scene where he was walking down an alley with a pistol, and there was a gang on the roof tops with rifles, and machine guns. He killed them all without a scratch. I can't remember if he ever reloaded or not.

Just about all of the TV and Movie Westerns made in the 1950's. While storyline in B Grade Westerns made in the 1930's were predictable the Cowboys attire was more authentic while the ladies wore dresses that were in fashion back then.

Surfing the other day I came across the 1962 movie The War Lover. The USAAF uniforms looked a little too tailored for wartime, and the lead actress was clearly dressed in the fashions of 1962, the biggest giveaway being her shoes.

Been watching Adam 12 re-runs. Amazing how Malloy is always driving what looks like 45-50 in residential areas, the tires always squeal from hard cornering, and he always brakes so hard the tires squeal on every stop.

I've seen shows and movies where that happens on dirt roads.

My favorite is the head on shot of the car being driven down the road and the gearshift is up in Park.

How many movie cars have rolled over and there's no drive shaft/tranny under the car?
I believe Rustyt hit it when he said he just lets the movie take him wherever; no round count, no squealing tires on a dirt road, etc. Who cares if the General Lee can can jump over any creek or stream without a ramp? As long as Daisy & her little doorless jeep show up once in a while, ya know?!

I love watching "SWAT" although I'm fixing to run out of them. In 150 episodes them folks musta killed the population of a medium sized town. They never make a mistake, are led by a "magical man" and the philosophy peddled throughout would make even the wildest lefty proud. Well, except for all the killing. Joe

I'm a fan of Endeavour on NPR. It's set in the 60s and 70s.
Did you see the finale?
As Fred and Morse are doing their last goodbye, Fred pulls his gun wrapped in a rag out of his bag or the car trunk, and says Morse should keep it. It is clearly a 6-1/2" N frame (455-2nd most likely) S&W that appears to be nickel. A scene or two later, Morse is sitting alone in the churchyard examining the gun which has morphed into a blue 455 Top Break Webley!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

ANot blooper

Then there's the American sniper using a Mosin PU sniper rifle in Kelly's Heroes.

Stalag 13 guards rifles are correct Krag J rifles were used in German POW camps. Luftewafa issue. sorry about spelling.
Jim
