Bodyguard 2.0 Finally Released

Well, attached is a screen shot from a post on Facebook from Smith & Wesson today. An M&P Shield Plus is in the picture, with the same frame as the existing Shield Plus, except it's made in TN

So then this means the Shield isn't going anywhere and this new Bodyguard 2.0 will be something that's entirely new, if they ever get around to launching it.

Editing the title of the thread as a result of the new information

Heck with “xc” I wonder what an “xs” is? Hope a small pocketable .32. Actually hope both of these are .32.

Its insane to me, in an age where internet hype can make or break a new product launch, that they have just tossed this ad out there without any follow up, teases, announcements etc.

I think I will stick with my original .380 Bodyguard.
If I want to carry something a little easier to shoot precisely I will carry my Glock 42, which I really like.

i have 3 of the originals, with lasers, and they're going nowhere as long as i'm still breathing. the BG had a pretty rough start, but i think they're reliable now, and for some reason i find them easy to shoot well. after trying all kinds of ammo i've decided Federal FMJ is a good choice.

I'll bet money that the new Bodyguard 2.0 launches either tomorrow or next Tuesday.

Some websites are already showing it for sale... See the attachment.

What is then the “xs” and “xc” designations? That is slim, like some 22mm! I bet it shoots better than the LCP Max as well. I’m in!

Maybe they’ll run a clearance sale on the leftover BG’s. :)

I'd be surprised. It might be different this time but typically S&W has a difficult time discontinuing old models and they keep them in production.

Looking at the diminishing 380 bodyguard choices compared to a year or so ago, tells me it will be discontinued in the coming future. I own two, so I'm good to go. This new gun is too big, they-need to stay pocket size.

Original BG380 is solid, but this is only slightly larger, less than a quarter inch in length and less than a quarter inch in height and it actually comes in lighter. Still absolutely a pocket pistol.

The BG 2.0 isn't even announced yet and somehow a dealer sold one to a customer. That customer posted a video on Facebook.

Attached is a screenshot from his video to prove I'm not full of it...

Saw his video. Not impressed. Tried reading the comments but it is locked up.

Now his thread is gone. He was having problems with FTF but was refusing to go to the range to break it in. Hopefully he stopped playing with live rounds in the house and hopefully the BG 2.0 is going to be a reliable option.

I like what I see. Same width, same barrel length, more capacity, and barely longer OAL. Why all the complaining? Go S&W!

And 2.2 ounces lighter, if what I read was correct. That would more than make up for the weight of four more rounds.

I like what I see.

I see one seller has listed the caliber as 9mm. Either they know something we don't, or their copywriter left out short or kurz. :)
