Just ordered a OEM strength. They're showing 21 left in stock.

Mine will simply not go in. Called S&W and they said they had a bunch of replacement springs on order but had no idea when they would be in. I broke my own rule of not buying a newly released model until all the bugs were located. S&W Customer Service sucks by the way.

How hard is it to get what appears to be a fairly common coil spring? There must be companies around the world that make coil springs to large customer’s specifications by the thousands every day.

When I experienced the too tight spring problem, I just turned the spring half way around and it went right in every time.

Glad the slide grip worked out for you. It’s amazing how much it improves the racking process. You’ll also like the Galloway spring too.

I've discovered that pulling the recoil spring to the rear, about half way back, allows the muzzle end of the spring to be pushed back into place.

Well.... unfortunately, I did not like the Galloway guide rod. I ordered the SS and -10. It fit nicely and looked very high quality, but it caused an issue with the slide seating completely forward when manually manipulating the slide. The slide would stop about 1/4" from being all the way forward (battery). The factory spring assembly did not do that. The spring pressure was not noticeably lighter than the factory one that I have modified. I will return it to Galloway, and hopefully live happily ever after with the slightly modified S&W guide rod.

I have the Galloway OEM strength guide rod and ran 100 rounds of Fiocchi Range Dynamics and 12 rounds of Federal HST and all were flawless.

I just ordered one OEM from Galloway. I could live with the original even with the issues it never malfunctioned.

If this one is better quality I figured why not.

I'm sorry to hear about all of these issues several are having. My step son wanted a pocket pistol, I couldn't talk him into a 9. I like my wife's RM380 (with aftermarket Galloway springs) but those guns aren't available, the real Remington is gone forever, and low capacity anyway. So last night did some research and online reviews of the Bodyguard 2 looked good. I'm a Smith guy, only Ruger I own is my Yellow lab with that name. But I thought I'd better come here to find out what the real experts said, you guys. Glad I did.

At the local gun show today he purchased the Ruger LCP max 75th anniversary for $350 otd. He'll be my tester, I think I want a Ruger 380 too. Good luck to you guys, looks like the Galloway RSA should be your next step.

Guide Rod

Today I cleaned and lubed my new BG2.0 prior to it's first trip to the range.

I've been working for an hour trying to get the guide rod & recoil spring back in. At this point, I've given up. I've watched several videos with no help

Any hints?

Mine was very difficult too. To resolve this i kept on twisting until the guide rod fell into place in the slide . Hopefully this helps it did for me. Good luck.
