Bodyguard 2.0 issue

It's not the press check I'm focused on, it's that when the slide is manipulated back a little (on purpose or on accident) it doesn't fully return to battery…and hence won't fire
You said you have to give it a tap to get the slide back into full battery?
If my BG2, after 200 rounds, the slide was getting "stuck" on a press check, I would have some concern about the cause. Especially because the amount of spring pressure on the guide rod is very high, and it seems that it would have enough force to easily close the slide to battery after a short press check... BUT... what I know about handgun design wouldn't make a little pimple on Bruce Gray's butt.

Unfortunately.... or very fortunately....??
I only have just over 300 rounds through my BG2. I bought it in August of 2024.
I go to the range once or twice a month and I take a least 4 other firearms with me.
And.... with a bunch of range buddies we end up shooting each other's toys.

Who has the money to buy hundreds of rounds of expensive .380acp ammo to see if their pistol is working? I am considering the purchase of a Bodyguard 2.0 but if the S&W quality control is that bad I don't think I will do it.

I hear you, I just sent it in today for them to fix, I can't trust a gun that doesn't return to battery do to tolerance

There is a YouTube video from a guy who had trouble loading mags past 2-3 rounds. He has a fix for it. This may be the issue you are dealing with as well......here's the link:

You don't need to modify the follower to use the UpLula mag loading device. All you need to do is load 3 rounds manually then use the loading device.
When loading manually you first push down the front, bullet end, of the cartridge that pushed the follower down on the front of it and that makes it clear the small cutout in the mag tube. when you manually load 3 cartridges that pushes down the follower below that cutout.
If you try using the loading device from the start that pushes down nearer the back of the cartridge which forces both the cartridge and follower to lift up in the front and that will cause the follower to catch that mag cutout. Been doing this way since I got my BG 2.0 and have never had a problem loading the mags with the UpLula
