HELP! Upon chambering a .380 round into my brand new (just out of the box) Bodyguard 2.0 .380, I find that the case will not fully seat into the chamber. No matter what I do it will not fully seat. The casing protrudes about 1/4 inch, preventing the receiver from fully close. Weapon has been cleaned and properly lubed. What am I doing wrong????

Some ammo has a bullet shape that can cause problems chambering in some pistols.

No idea what brand or bullet type you're using. It may be that another brand will work fine.

Or it could be the barrel needs to be checked out by S&W to insure it was made correctly when they cut the chamber.

Try a couple other brands/bullet types and see how they do. If you still have issues contact S&W customer service and tell them about your issues and what ammo you've tried. They will usually send you a form that lets you box up/send the pistol back to them for repairs.

Good advice above. Go buy 4 boxes of different kinds of .380 BALL ammo; this should be the easiest to load into the chamber. Examples are Federal, Speer, Blazer, etc. - brass cases only. If you have problems, remove the "unbreechable" bullets and examine the bullets as well as their cases - look for dents, dings, etc.

Have you removed the barrel and carefully examined it for burrs using a flashlight? If you have problems after this experiment, call customer service and let them send you a label to return it for inspection. Make sure your BG 2.0 is absolutely clean before this test firing, and run a brass barrel brush through it with a good solvent to make sure it's clean. It will give some strength to you case.

Good luck and please write a follow-up post here to let us know.

Just got a new BG 2.0 PC, cleaned and oiled. Same issue, would not seat Federal brass rounds or any aluminum - leftover ammo from my BGCT(1.0), which will shoot anything. Got a box of Fiochi brass rounds onsite and it ran 50 with only 1 hang. THe gun did not cock numerous times with slide rack also. Seems to work fine empty. Need more rounds to evaluate, confidence level is zero for now.
