OK folks has anyone used one or preferably both of these and what are you opinions. The Talon C.A.T. M-4 and the G & G 223 Bolt Cleaner and Polisher. The MSRP for both are the same. The videos for the G&G looks like it could do a better job at polishing. Also the Talon tool,
different than the C.A.T. M-4 looks like it can do a good job on the lugs and chamber. any thoughts or suggestions?

Talon Tools Buy Talon Field Kit, AR-15, Gun, Cleaning Tool, Gun Cleaning Tool, AR-15 Cleaning Kit
G&G Tools gng bolt cleaner and polisher

I did a search for both but did not find any info, but I could have used the wrong search criteria.

Been there and I don't see any mention of the G&G setup. I was just wondering if the polishing part would be one up on the C.A.T. M-4 but it doesn't have the ability to clean the fireing pin.Looking at the video's on youtube it looks like the G&G might be slightly up because it holds the bolt at the correct angle to the scraper. But looks bigger and does not have the other accessories the Talon C.A.T. M-4 has. Mostly I was interested if anyone has used both and how they compare to one another. I will be buying the Talon but didn't want to buy both of the others if anyone has used them and had any good or bad feedback on either.

I dont know anything about the G&G but I have the other stuff, I picked it up after reading that thread and talking with the OP. I use the Talon and the CAT M4 and they are really handy tools.

I've got the CAT M4 and find it very useful for cleaning the bolt. Never had need for the Talon, but it looks useful.

I can't imagine scrubbing the tail of a bolt with a ScotchBrite pad enough that the Parkerizing is removed like shown in the G&G site. Looks like gun abuse to me.

oneyeopn tkx have you had any problems keeping the bolt square in the scraper? After watching the video again the CAT M4 has the advantage of the carrier scraper. Looks like that's the one for me, still be nice to hear fron someone who has tried the G&G setup.

Sorry I can't comment on the G&G, but went the same route as many others after JaPes posted his cleaning thread. I picked up both the Talon and CAT M4 and are pleased with their performance.

There may be a reason no is commenting on the G&G ...just sayin'?

I originally intended to get one of those G&G tools. The CAT M4 works so well that I never got around to it.

There was another one that looked it worked like a radial apple peeler. Can't find it now.

gdnagle, I have not had any problem keeping the tool square. If it is not square it doesn't turn, plus you don't have to move it fast just slow partial twists is all it takes. You also don't have to use it all the time. I use it after about 1000 rounds and don't in between. I did use it after 50 to 100 round shooting sessions but wasn't finding any carbon to clean out. A person could probably get by using it every 2500 rounds and still be fine. I use my boresnake and chamber brush way more often plus after you use the talon if you wrap a patch around the chamber brush you can see how much stuff you broke loose.
