Book recommendation for target shooting

I hope you guys can help. All that I like to do is shoot paper with .22 to .45 single action. Usually 25 yards but sometimes 50 yards on my farm. I have no interest in ranges or clubs so I'm limited on what I can learn to this forum and books. Can you recommend a book or 2 that would help me become a better shot. I can usually keep 5 out of 6 in the black, but nothing like what you guys shoot. Any help would be appreciated.

It's pretty dated, but "the Pistol Shooter's Treasury" by Gil Hebard was a great collection of information on target shooting. The Army Marksmanship Unit Pistol Marksmanship Training Guide covers all the basics, and you should be able to find a pdf of it online with a Google search.

If you're primarily interested in Precision Pistol-type shooting (vs. action shooting like IDPA), the U.S. Army Marksmanship Guide is hard to beat, especially for the price - available at online sellers like Amazon, or you can find it online for free via Google.

I like to use old telephone books as targets. LOL A stack of those a K22 and about 50 cartons of 22lr and you'll have lots of book learning and be a real decent shot.

Back in the 1970's, I found "The Handbook of Handgunning" by Paul Weston. It helped me and I would recommend it to you. Amazon has a used copy for $7.95, plus shipping. Good luck!
