I was brought this .357 magnum 3.5” Pre Model 27 today. Seller wanted $1000. After spending the next 45 minutes learning everything I could about it, I became its new owner.

Wow, I think you got a killer deal on that sweet .357 Magnum! What a great Christmas present! I would love to add an early 3-1/2" bbl. model to my modest collection, but so far I only have a couple of 27-2s from the early 70's. Your 5-screw dates to 1952-53. My 6-1/2" bbl. .357 Magnum is ca. 1955 (s/n S140334), and it's one of my favorite revolvers next to the snubbies. Congratulations, enjoy!

I found my second 3 1/2" 5 screw this year. It belonged to Tom LeBleu, Chief of Police in Seminole, TX, shipped Nov.21, 1952. ol' drover is now the caretaker and I know it's in a good place. I still have my first one that shipped to H.H. Harris on April 9, 1954.

Commander Cody, you got yourself a nice one. i would be tempted to get a letter on it just to see. You never know where those guns went back then.

Five or six years ago. I got on a roll, with finding and purchasing Pre 27 3 1/2" barrel revolvers. All were obtained in less than four months. I paid $1k, $1418.66, and $1750 for the trio. Two still remain in my collection. Since we all love pictures, here you go.

My three found their way to me over a period of about two years...Pictured at the bottom here, only two have their original finishes...;)...Ben
