Bought SD40VE, retuning it for a Glock.

The problem is not with the weapon! Slow down take a deep breath and read carefully!

You were and are failing to let the trigger forward far enough to reset. The SD has a longer reset than some other pistols but it isn't that big of a difference. You will have the same problem with any striker fired auto you choose unless you learn to let the trigger forward between shots every time. I would suggest some training! Strongly suggest training! Relax. You are blaming a design feature for working as it should. You have to let the trigger out between shots. It's called short stroking the trigger. Your quoted statement reveals this! If you let off the trigger and it fires that is the case. Relax, and take some time to adjust to the world of striker fired autos or trade it for another revolver because the same thing will happen with your shiny new glock if you don't take time to learn to let off the trigger between shots.

Just noticed I was too late! Enjoy your shorter reset glock and when it happens with it... take my advice.

I was wondering if someone was going to tell him the truth.

I had the same problem at first with my .40 SD. I took it home and cleaned it afterwards and have never had a problem with it since. Fires each and every time!

I just got a SD40ve 3 days ago and got around to firing it yesterday and it was doing the same thing it has a 2 second delay before it clicks and fires infact one time it fired with my finger off the trigger Im waiting for fed ex to pick it up now

I too was looking at a glock, but the glock 19. I shot my friends 23, I like 9mm better, didn't like the ergonomics, just didn't "feel" right in my hand. I also got the notorious slide cut on my hand because the beaver tail wasn't protruding enough to prevent my hand from coming up too high on the slide. The other downside is glock only has a one year warranty. Good luck on your new glock, but I hope you keep the SD40.

I got a new SD 40 that's at smith now for repair I got it the night before next day I go yo shoot and it would not fire 2 secs later boom it had a delayed click No it was not a primer the gun itself would not click 3 more round tested and if i held trigger down for a sec or 2 it would fire ...... anyway called S&W they sent me a label by email Fed ex showed up 3 hours later and now they got gun...... Mad i only had it 12 hours or so but happy its getting fixed

I was just getting ready to post about that. Glad I read your post first. Unless, of course, the SD9vE is now a SA/DA weapon. :)
