I have not used any brake cleaner yet on my guns but I have a ? before I do . What does the cleaner do to composites ? Or does it not do anything to it when just sprayed on and not soaking it ? What is safe to do?

What's your definition of composites? If you're talking about grips/stocks, I'd keep the stuff away from your stocks. If you're talking about polymer frames or other plastic parts, that's also a real good idea.

Yes, like the grips and frames on my Sigma .

Buy a can of Gun Scrubber for your polymer guns. Works well on "real" guns also:D They used to have two versions one for synthetic one for non, they be the same now.

There are two types of brake cleaner. One (original) is TCE Chlorinated and the newer is non Chlorinated.

Here is synthetic safe gun scrubber. Pretty much the non chlorinated brakleen except for acetone.

Here is Shooters Choice Quick Scrub (safe for all guns)

And that concludes Today's fun with Chemistry Class:)

I use the B-C synthetic safe Gunscrubber or plastic safe PCB cleaner. Brake cleaner for stainless only.
