The over-zealous on both sides have forced a decision on the part of Starbucks that is playing to the anti-agenda.

Freedom and Respect go hand in hand. Where a decision like this is forced, public carry will lose because business owners must err on the side of safety. The difference between having a right and doing what's right must be bridged with wisdom.

As protectors of our right to self defense and its inherent balance of power, we must also encourage the impression that we are intelligent and responsible stewards of that right.

( I usually don't go for $4 coffees anyway, but if the opportunity arises, I'll probably go elsewhere or keep my bucks in my own pocket...Comment to Starbucks sent:)

Much to do about nothing. Because both sides of the gun issue has decided to make Starbucks the focal battleground, Starbucks has politely asked them to take the grandstanding elsewhere. The company has not banned firearms, will not ask a gun owner to leave, has simply "asked' them to not bring them in the store.

Starbucks prefers to have its customers focus on the coffee, not whether they prefer guns or not.

Sorry about the duplicate thread..

Here's a better idea:: A coffee shop for gun owners:

"The 2A Cafe"

"Wanna shot with that?"

Wonder how many cities could support one????

(I hereby claim all ownership and rights to the name and any logo bearing the name or words: "2A Cafe" with this post time & date stamped as proof.. :D .. lol )

Don't know where everyone gets these $4 coffee things, I can buy a coffee there for less than $2, if I feel the urge to frequent one of their stores. Crappy Dunkin Donuts costs the same.
Panera's coffee tastes better than both, imo.

2A Cafe - Keep the day/night job

Very few if any - those that caused this kerfuffle have moved onto the next 2 seconds of fame. It's all about them, not the 2A.

*Shrug* Something was bound to happen sooner or later. Mr. Schultz has the right to run his business as he sees fit, and I have the right to refuse to give Starbucks any of my money if I so choose.

Personally, if I ever have to go into Starbucks (which is admittedly rare), my concealed sidearm will remain on my hip and concealed just as it always has.

I went to Starbucks today, nothing's changed. Carried my 649-3,as always, had my $1.79 coffee and left. As someone else said, much ado about nothing.

I go to Barnes & Noble about once a month or so and since Starbucks is inside I usually stop anf get a coffee and read awhile. I'm always armed and no one knows, AS IT SHOULD BE.

This ruckas was caused mostly by open carriers trying to prove a point. I get the point, but why push it?

If the group had just been openly carrying handguns and not acting like a bunch of gangsters it might have turned out differently. A couple of the pics I've seen show a couple of guys carrying ARs.

This wouldn't even fly at any gun show I've ever attended nor would it be allowed at the shooting club to which I belong. Loaded handguns have to be holstered and rifles must be unloaded. Why would someone think that carrying a loaded (or apparently loaded) rifle into Starbucks wouldn't be a problem?

As I stated in the other thread, who would you expect Starbucks to cater too? A few gun toting fools? Or your everyday customers?

It's business pure and simple. Their decision was well thought out and correct. I would have done the same.

This EXACTLY ^^^
Once i saw video of the idiots who decided to show their
"appreciation" to Starbucks by converging on the local coffee
shop wearing full camo "with body armor", carrying AR15's
and Riot Shotguns i am with Starbucks management 100%
on this latest stand. I don't buy 5 dollar a cup Java to begin
with so its a no-issue with me. But this is NOT the way we
want the Gun Owners represented if we are to retain our gun
freedoms long term. Bunch of stupid GrandStanders looking
for their faces on TV......Morons.....
