Firing pin on 15-22 is broken, customer service says part is back ordered and will take weeks to get... Son has a match next sat. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Can you put up a pic of what a broken firing pin looks like?
I could probably machine you a new one by just copying my existing one.
Any mods you would like?

stainless or titanium aftermarket fireing pins might sell pretty good and be a nice option,,,,,,best regards Plum

If I made a thousand or more, sure.
Design / program time $60.00 Hr.
Machine set up $100.00 Hr. + proofing the program
Machine run $150.00 Hr.
Inspect $30.00 Hr.
Heat treat $150.00 a batch
Looks like about $350.00 for one part.
If someone would like to pony up the cash for 150 (or more) firing pins we can both make some money over the longer run.
PM me and we can go over the numbers

That's what I was afraid of. But it would look great in the shop at Tacticool22.com - Parts, Tools, Accessories, and Resources for 22 Caliber Firearms

I know how yea feel about waiting a few weeks... I called em about the short 10rd mags... They told me they were out of stock and not on the list to be made... Might be a LONG time before they even think about making more

I might make one or two just to do it and just eat the designing CAD/CAM/CNC work. I can probably get them put in a batch of similar items for heat treat.

Are broken firing pins common in the 15 22?.....If so I will get my friend the gunsmith to order me a few.

I have been shooting many many firearms for over 56 years and have never broken a pin.

Same here.

This is only the second report I remember reading about on the forum. I have a hard time believing S&W doesn't have any; they haven't stopped production and sales of the 15-22, so there has to be some available.

Don't think it's common but this rifle has been working hard. We practice every weekend with the team for couple years. 5-7k rounds would be my best guess.
No dry fire.

That's really not much usage over a couple of years. I bought mind in December and have 5K through it.

I wonder how many cases of this S&W has actually seen.

Don't know but I was shocked when they back ordered it, would think there would be a bin full of them somewhere.

Guess they want me to buy another rifle and have a spare just in case
