Budweiser PR problem?

Good riddance. With an attitude like that, NRA doesn't need him in the ranks anyway.

If his home were to ever be invaded by multiple perpetrators, he would either:

a. USE a semi-automatic weapon with a high capacity magazine

or

b. WISH he had a semi-automatic weapon with a high capacity magazine.

Unfortunately there are a lot of insecure people out there that would rather drink a beer that will make people think they are cool and "in the click" rather than drink a beer they actually like the taste of.

What about the people that bash people for drinking what they like?

I am in a beer club, and drink lots of beers. But I also like some plain old light beers too.

What kept me away from micro brews, was I thought the people who drank them were stuck up, and drank cause it made them feel special.

Well of course. My whole point is that I believe everyone should drink what they like and not what some people say is required to be cool.

I realize the tastes vary and some folks will actually like the taste of Bud and/or light beer. I may sometimes exaggerate to make a point.

It's beer for cryin' out loud. Drink what you like and here's to ya! :)

Well, some people drink microbrews because they don't give them headaches or hangovers.

Microbrews don't make me feel special, unless by "special" you mean "slightly buzzed." :)

As was pointed out, Adolphus Busch doesn't have anything to do with the beer company, so I won't go into detail, but I am an India Pale Ale fan.

It is a shame Adolphus Busch decided to separate himself from the firearms community. Our votes, along with his, defeats unconstitutional gun restrictions. Many folks have said they have "issues" with the NRA, but IMHO, it is the only game in town. If Adolphus Busch was in favor of the Toomey-Manchin bill, he should have tried to get the NRA to support it. Now he has no voice, zero, period.

Know why there are so many different beers on the market? Because there are so many different people who drink beer.

My rankles get ruffled when someone tells me that my choice of beer, booze, food, clothes, vehicle, etc is inferior to theirs because they happen to like XYZ and its better than my ABC. Ok jerk.

Now having said that, the two beers that I LIKE the best aren't even available here in TX. I like "Kiltlifter" in Tucson AZ and "Okanogan Pale Ale" in Whistler Canada. Domestically my taste lies along the much maligned and apparently hated Bud Light or Blue Moon.

Bud is pretty good beer, with a distinctive taste that some like and others don't. I think Coors is almost ephermeral. If I want a light beer, it'll be Heineken. (sp?)

I really prefer a fuller flavor, like Michelob, Sam Adams, or Grolsch (Dutch.) Samuel Smith's Old Pale Ale is great. But I don't swill a six-pack at a time.I drink one or two with meals. That was when I drank beer much at all. I've always been more into wine.

Still, a beer at Hans Mueller's German restaurant at the state fair here went down well, and his tables faced the long Esplanade pool lined with national flags. I'd give my kids a penny for every flag they could name. Then, we'd talk some about the countries whose flags we saw. They learned more about history and geography that way than in school.

I agree that Adolphus Busch IV fails to understand the need for the 2A. He probably grew up in a liberal environment and attended an Ivy League college.

Problem with Guinness is it just weak beer. They tried running a campaign about how it was in low calories like a lite beer. But I suppose the guys who thought they were drinking a stout beer, didn't want to hear that.

I did get a sampler box at Christmas, that has one with some more alcohol in it.

Try "Sheaf stout" very malty, just the right amount of hops. I've always thought Guinness was too weak and bitter.

About the only " national brand/mainstream" American beer I do like is PBR, which is most often the cheapest. (Win, win)

Heck. way back when in our 18's (it was legal) we drank ABC Beer!:D How about Fishers Ale from Win Dixie or similar fine brews. It was .99 cents a 6 pack!

I grew up on Guinness as it was considered "medicinal" in our home... that being said I love stouts and always had a soft spot for Mackeson Stout but my new favorite is Yeti Imperial Stout., guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.

When Auggie died, the Busch family ceased to be relevant. Their civic loyalty, their traditions, slowly started going away. Then IV thru out III and it became just another company. IV is a piece of work. He's had a lot of mysterious deaths around him. Personally, I rank him right beside Bloomburg in the "Rich ******* Category". YMMV.

Sad there was a time in days of old when third district coppers amd any other coppers were welcome in the Tap Room.....Some of the antics that went on in there were at best funny as heck, and some were not so funny. When things got out of hand one evening after the 3-11 got off duty ,a off duty copper got hurt..Not bad unless you need two ears......The Captain of the third at the time took it upon his self to ban beer consumption after shift by all off duty coppers He ended up assigned to the 6th. Old man Busch needed no help from a Capt. in running the brewery I guess......The coppers loved the Tap room heck it was free.......Busch's don't own the brewery any more, and for that matter guns and the younger Busch didn't make for a happy ending...The older Busch's were avid hunters.....Personel experiences sometimes cloud personel opinions..That was in the 60's I don't know anything about recent times.......That beer sure was good right out of the tap.

Well, I laugh at the jokes about American beer, but I DO drink Bud, and I will finish up what I have. De gustibus non disputandum est, and all that. But I will resign from Bud, just like IV is resigning from the NRA, but I don't feel that he's worth a letter.

Anyone have any recommendations on Pro-2A beer?

I understand his position on desiring more gun controls, to keep the people safe. Guns; they kill SO many peopel each year, and they wound many, many times more.

So, while we chat about his desire to control guns more for public safety, I would like to talk to him about drunk driving, and how it is so much safer for society than guns. I mean, there is no violence tied to people who drink lots of his Budweiser beer, you know???!!
Thank God he wants to take evil guns off the street, so nobody gets drunk and shoots someone.

Ha ha ha .. Look at all the posters here talking beer...

In Wisconsin we start drinking when we are 14 just like we did in the homeland of Germany where most of our ancestors are from.

And I don't mean sipping a beer or tipping a bottle back 20 or 30 times before it's gone. A bottle of beer contains 2 swigs. That's it. Any more and you must be from outa state.... Any Wisconsinite can drink a case in a day... Even if they don't start 'till 6pm! :p

I've been in the Hoffbrauhous and drank their finest. It's dang good beer! I've had the scotch ales and IPA's, the nitrogen forced Guinness and the Cascade Hops in wheat beers. I've brewed for 20 years and drank for 40. Still love a good porter after a steak and a fruit infused ale in the summer.

Good beers are brewed all across this country, and while we all may prefer one over another, don't go dissing on the guy that drinks something other than your favorite....

Drink what ya like, and don't hesitate to buy the next round! ;)

I am not sure if some people get headaches from Bud cause it is to strong for them, or they just drink the micro beers so slow they don't get drunk anyways.

For the record I am not a Bud drinker. But I am not against it either. I now lots of loyal Bud drinkers. Most are drunks, and probably drink it cause it is stronger then most.

I do drink lots of beers, but I still believe there is a hoodeetodee factor with lots of people who drink micro beers.

I had some PBR recently. It is a good easy drinking beer.
