First you have to get the scratch out, and by the time that is done all that rubbing in one area is going to stand out big time, if you can feel it with your fingernail it's going to take some work, now you have to polish the whole gun to match and when your done it's going to look like nickel, I like shiny guns opposed to matte stainless, but that is my preferance, you may not like that, if you like the matte finish leave it alone. The white 3M pads work good for this or like said before 1500 grit, but keep it wet with wd40 while polishing. Just my 2 cents.
