Lorelei, It may be possible and I have two friends that have them. One would not be happy having gun parts made on his machine. The other maybe ok with it but the issue is time. My time would depend on their time which may not coincide well. My other thought is I have other plans in my head. I make stuff all the time and this would be the best excuse to finely get my own.

I think someone touched on this before but I couldn't find it again. Is that lower in the frame similar to or an actual AR lower? Seems to me you could get around all the legal issues if you could design it so you can plug in the 15-22's lower or a standard AR lower. Design the bullpup frame to use the same takedown pins to hold the lower in place so it's just plug and play. Essentially you would then be only selling an accessory kit consisting of the overall frame and the necessary trigger components while the end buyer supplies a lower receiver and the 15-22 upper. Keeps it simple and would probably keep your costs down and make it easily marketable. Just my two cents.
Edit: Nevermind just looked at it again and realized I completely ignored the fact that the threads where you screw in a buffer tube would be in the way of the barrel

jsdavidson, I think the topic on the lower is in the Bullpup v2 thread. Anyway the reason for making a new lower was to avoid cutting the fixed buffer tube off the factory 15-22. As it is designed you simply pop the two pins and swap the lowers, maybe 10 seconds and nothing is altered on the original 15-22. It sounds like you have this figured out now. You are not the only one that has asked that question. Its sometimes hard to visualize things in 3D. Luckily we all have the same prop to look at.

May not be as bad as you think. I have a couple of CNC Hobby Mills one of which is a four axis Tormach PCNC1100. Machine with some bells and not a lot of whistles is under $15K.
It can do anything that you can program but not as fast as bigger, heavier machines. Maybe you should look into it as an alternative. Mine is making a .22LR Gatling Gun between paying jobs. One of these should be able to handle any of your parts as long as the length is under 18".

I do happen to shoot video for a living, so I'm a tough critic. My professional advice for you….find a teenager with an I-Phone or an I-Pad and tell your buddy to shoot the gun, not the video. Anything will be better than what he did!
Seriously though, IMHO, you are King of modifications for the 15-22! You rocked the whole world as far as this gun goes. So many of us have had fun with this great rifle just customizing it to our own liking. You have recreated the rifle in a whole new style. My hat is off to you sir!

nitewatchman, the parts will require a minimum 26" by 14" cutting area per gun. Both the machines I have access to are 6' x 14' so if I do go into production I would nest the parts into a 4' x 8' sheet for better yield.

PHXSHOOTER, thanks for the enormous complement. I started inventing things when I was 8 which is when I designed and built an octagonal rotary safe lock. I have designed and built many diverse things like, car spring compressors, motorcycle helmet radios, motorized lifts, cars, and even a boat. Its just what I do, and most of the time its because someone said it can't be done.
The first name I thought of was M&P 15-22BP but decided it would not be a good idea to associate Smith & Wesson with something I made so your name choice would have to be axed as well, but don't stop, you can enter as many names as you can think of.
The video, well it went like this. I was trying to be discrete with a gun that nobody as ever seen on this planet before and wasn't sure what the reaction would be. I had the factory lower on when I started shooting till I could see nobody was paying attention. I then switched out the lower, 15 seconds, and started testing as described earlier. I wanted to catch some of the action especially after I realized everything was good. I didn't want to endanger anyone else in case something happened so it had to be my face resting on the chamber which left the video chore to, well he is a good guy just not that skilled.
It was so much fun to shoot I cannot wait to do it again. If anyone here who lives in So. Florida would like to test V4 I would be happy to let them give it a try.

I've never (ever) wanted to be anywhere near Florida in my life... until now. lol.
Please post a video of V4 when you shoot it.
