You might just want to believe that person when he says it.

The original pic keeps disappearing so here's a smaller version...

That argument didn't work with my fiancee the first time she visited my apartment and saw my "library" of "art" magazines. It hasn't worked in the past 35 years of our marriage, and I suspect at this point, it never will. Probably because she knew full well that I never read ANY of the articles. :D

Now, when it comes to gun magazines, I really DO read the articles, as well as look at the pictures. My wife has even given me subscriptions to several of them as gifts.

I did really like Shel Silverstein's cartoons.
Later, I was equally amazed when I found that he wrote some songs.
Like a Boy Named Sue.

Along the same line:
I owned a video production company and we used to do video work for the former Playboy "Model of the Year" Karen McDougal. My wife used to wince everytime she came in the office but, for some reason, many of the guys in my office complex would find an excuse to stop in at that time!

I tried reading a installment of "The Playboy philosophy"...Once...Either Heff was on some serious drugs, or I'm just too stupid to comprehend what he was trying to say. After I woke up the third time I went back to just looking at de pitchers.

Probably no one believes me but I honestly read it pretty much cover to cover every month and I have for quite a few years! A lot of it is pretty far to the left but there really is some good reading there. Heck my wife even reads a lot of it!
( I do also look at the pictures!)

Years ago I flew my plane home. (California to Wisconsin). My mother introduced me to a nice girl from her church. We dated a very short while and somehow she confessed to me she used to be a bunny at the lake Geneva club. After that she "turned her life around" and was doing missionary work I think in the virgin islands. She stressed I was not to let my mom know. That was 37 years ago. Wonder what she looks like now. Many years ago I knew a guy at work. He was about 30 years older than me and frankly looked a lot like I do now. (Big, fat and ugly) He was always telling me about the many affairs he had 40 years back. One time I said George, you are always telling me about those wild women you used to know, all the older women I ever see are pretty much, you know, prim and proper. I never see any wild ones your age, how come? Wall hell yes he said, when they get old fat and ugly, they get religion!

my wife was very understanding about the magazines. only one in the house was the hefner one. still have about a 30 plus years' library on shelves in the basement. also never gives me any flack about gun buying, trading, selling, etc.

You can get, for ~$8 a month, all issues of Playboy, forthcoming and back to the beginning in 1954, or whenever it was, digitally. Meaning on your computer or mobile device.

I had a subscription in 2012-13. Re-reading Robert Ruark articles, or interviews with John Wayne and Muhammed Ali, for example, was fun....

(Enjoyed the pix, too. Pretty tasteful, really, given what is out there nowadays... Not that I would know or nothin'.....;))

My wife treated me to a subscription for 5-6 years. They started to stack up, like Nat. Geo. mag how could anyone in their right mind not keep'em around, ya know just in case?

Didn't Alex Hailey the author of Roots get his started in BP. Same as Mark Boudin (sp) author of Black Hawk Down.

First the jokes, always on the back of the centerfold page, then a scan through at the cartoons, THEN the pics...

I remember my favorite cartoon ever in Playboy...two cops, one on each side, carrying Col Sanders away from a Kentuicky Fried Chicken restaraunt, with one saying, "Col Sanders, we finally found what your 'Special herbs and spices' are." Back in the day when seeds and stems would get you 5 years here in Georgia.

Funny this came up. My boss just gave me two years back of a Playboy collection. I agree; it IS liberal on a lot of opinions that I am conservative on. I'll be honest though; they are entitled to that opinion, the women are beautiful, and the Advisor is always an interesting read. Beats another "tactical" article in American Handgunner EVERY time, as far as I'm concerned.

Back when I was very young, my old daddy caught me in an embarrassing situation with a Playboy magazine. Never one to let a teachable moment pass, my father, cool as always, asked a question: "what're you looking at?"

My answer was "a naked woman..."

Dad then informed me "Son, that's not a woman. That's a picture of a woman. There's a real big difference, and don't ever forget it."
and thus ended the lesson.:D

I only have one copy. I saw it on Amazon and ordered it. My wife didn't mind at all.
Jamie Pressley sure looks nice!
