Buying a 14-2

This is the last one I got about 2 weeks ago, can't call it ANIB but it's pretty nice 1949 all matching including stocks. It was just a fluke I got on GB, the seller had it described totally wrong as a model 15. Cost 520.00 including my FFl transfer fee.

Andy52,

Can you post a photo of the non relieved stocks? I just purchased a 14-2 with non relieved stocks and I would like to compare the stocks. If you want PM me and I will send you my email address.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

This is a picture that's here on the forum that I post a few weeks ago. The top one is a 14-2, 1966 it has smooth rosewood targets. The lower one is a pre 14 1953 with non relieved targets. If you would like a few more shots I can post some up tomorrow.

Your non relieved targets are in better shape than mine, my shows some wear. I always like photos.

Thanks for posting,

Leon

Nice. And a very good price.

The 1 I was looking at sold for $619.99. That would have been $679.99 by the time it got to me. A little more than I wanted to pay.

Super nice gun with an unheard-of price. Thanks for sharing your gun and the deal.

I'm sure if the seller had listed it correctly I would have never gotten it for the price I did. I was just surfing GB when I came across it. Opening bid was 475 I was the only bidder, 25 to ship, 20 to my FFL for the transfer. GB is a strange place sometimes you can find a deal and a lot of guns are just way over priced.

Maybe they are just worth more than I'm willing to pay

Another I placed a bid on went for $575.00. That would have been $615.00 after shipping and fees. Better luck next time.

292, I've gotten a couple of guns that the starting price was kind of high, but under what I was willing to pay, and no reserve. I ended up the only bidder. The nice ones with 0.01 starting, and no reserve, usually get a lot of interest. I got a 14-3 with cosmetic issues for $325. When I got it the issues weren't nearly as bad as the pictures. Keep looking and good luck.

14's are cool! My -3 from 1974 is a prized possession. The year i graduated high school.
