Ca. Corr. Peace Off. Comm. Model 10 ???

My friend just picked up a Ca. Correctional Peace Officer's Assoc. Silver Anniversary commemorate. It's a 3", nickled, round butt, Model 10-8, Ser. no. ACV80xx.
I did not find it listed in the SCSW 3rd ed.

Can anyone shed some light on this? How many? etc.??

Terry, that's some tough info to find.

When I was seeking information on a (San Francisco Bay Area) BART Police M-586 commemorative, I was told that more often than not, these "specialty" commmemoratives (especially for POA's) are contracted with a local distributor that obtains the stock guns from S&W and then has them embellished. In those cases, the factory records would only show the SN as a run of the mill production gun being sent to a distributor.

I'd try giving S&W customer service a call to have them try looking up the S/N to see if there is any clue that it's not listed as a regular production gun.
