Does anyone know if the MP 15-22 will have a california compliant threaded barrel version?

OK, learn something new every day :) Does Cali allow collapsible stocks also? How about 25 rd mags?

cali does alow collapsable stocks but only 10 round mags. same mags as the 25 they just have this pinned device in it so you can only fill the mag up to ten. I just cant understand why you cant have a threaded barrel in cali. its for a "fake suppressor for crying out loud.

S&W recently came out with a threaded barrel version with a flash suppressor on it. All stock! Why wont they alow the threaded in CA! makes no sense.

they do allow threaded barrels in ca. 22s are excluded from some of their rules... look it up google is your friend... but s&w ships their "compliant" model to all states that have restictions... but dont take anyones word look it up for yourself... everyone should know their states laws just so they know how p.o. to get

If you go to the S&W website they recently came out with a threaded version MP. The CA compliant model dosent have it. so its not legal right?

I called S&W a while ago and they ARE aloud in Cali. They just dont make one with a 10rd mag yet.

If you think CA is bad, you surly don't want to get involved with New Jersey. There are no exemptions for .22 LR, 15 round magazines max, no colapsable or folding stocks. S&W pins the stock. pull or loose the pin and you have a genuine "Assult Rifle" under the law.

ca threaded barrel

i spoke w/a sw rep. he said no threaded barrels in ca. or fixed flsh hiders. ffl dealers will not swap out 25 for 10rd. but, maybe a gunstore. my ffl guy said no. i could try elsewhere but i'd be flagged or questioned everytime[knocks on my door] in court its 50/50. besides ITS COSMETIC! why a flash hider on A 22lr?

however, elsewhere on this site there's a califas guy who does it at a reaaonable $.

is it size that matters?

I live in Cali and just paid a gunsmith to thread my barrel. He threaded it and did a crown job for only $30 bucks. He did it while I hung out and watched. If you want his info PM me. Because the 15-22 is a rimfire its not covered under the assault rifle laws so its ok to have a flash hider. You will notice the colt .22 and the Ruger SR22 come with flash hiders in Cali. If it were illegal they wouldn't have them.
