Cabelas Moving In, Is this a Good Thing?

Thanks everyone for your replies and opinions. Generally, I hear you saying that they are OK. Now I'm looking forward to their opening. Did I read that some of the stores have food courts? Are you serious? What are the choices, beef jerky, bison burgers, smoked salmon and dehydrated ice cream?

Rumor has it that a Cabella's will be opening at our new outlet mall near Robstown. I think w have a bass pro here? Anyway, never been in either but would like to browse around. BTW, since tr=hey will be opening near Robstown, they BETTER have store security. Robstown population or most of it--nothing but a den of thieves. Once upon a time they had a walmart there--it closed due to theft--most of it by employees.

I prefer Cabela's over Bass Pro, but that's me.

I agree, but that's not saying alot . If you live in the midwest, I don't think you can beat Scheels if you like the big stores. Noticeably nicer, more professional staff than either Cabelas or Bass Pro. Better prices also.

One opened here across the highway from Academy. It is never that busy and I was not impressed. Too expensive to change the firearms market.
